Here is a pic of Grandpa in 1964 during the Salton Sea 500.

This hull is one of two ever built and the other was destroyed by Mickey Thompson in this same race! pretty cool story

and a winning receipt for the parker enduro

Those are some awesome pics!! I cant believe people used to go boating and water ski in the Salton sea, I go by there all the time for work and that water seems so nasty lol. I guess it wasnt as bad back in the day though.

That was before millions of gallons of raw sewage and toxic waste flowed into it from Mexico via the New and Alamo Rivers from Mexicali, Mexico.

Yes it was a nice place back in the day, we used to vacation there back in the early 70's. my parents had a overhead camper and a tri-hull boat. and we would stay for weeks at a time. fun times

Your grandpa and my grandpa were sprayed with the same water..He too raced in Parker many moons ago...

I will have to go through the pictures we have to see if there are any of the races. Gotta trudge through about 10 boxes of 60 year old stuff.
