i dont see this working well

Im not an expert, and have no reason to think this, but i dont see this working well

Its been tried on a 21' Daytona, and didn't work so well (1000+hp?). But on that 24' with deep vee and heavy hull, 570 hp, why not?
First pick looks like its running pretty decent, if not a bit wet.

Ever drive a boat with an Arneson? Unreal.

Not for the faint at heart,  don't plan on cruising at 35mph.

They don't even breath hard until about 80mph.

That would be able to take advantage of every positive there is in the drive system.

Pretty cool.

I spoke to Bob Leach a few years ago, he was talking about putting a surface drive with a 572 in his 40th anniversary 19' Daytona.
I don't think he ever did it, but it sounded pretty wild.

An Arneson needs something to push against,  much like a Mercruiser Blackhawk. A tunnel "flies" making figuring out shaft angle and X dimension virtually a moving target. It would be an absolute handful to drive.  The prop is too far from the back of the boat.

A tunnel or a hydro wants the props right at the transom,  even under it.
