Here's my story
I have the same boat as the orange Rogers on the Place Diverter website. Who better to talk to than Tim Place. We had good conversations about what I should do next. I drove to his shop (80 miles each way) to look at the full Droop with Ride Plate and his HP Steering nozzle. I have a stock intake so Tim thought the droop might work and the HP steering nozzle definitely will work.
His offer to me was as follows: Try the full droop and ride plate, then run without plate and let Tim know how the boat reacts. The price $450 cash. If it doesn't work come back and he'll trade the parts for the HP steering nozzle and give me $150 cash back. I'm curious about both options so I go with his offer. We shook hands and off I went.
I talk with Tim yesterday to discuss the trade. I did feel like something was up. I drove down to his shop today. Tim changed the deal. First he offered me store credit. Then he told me he would give me $100. I'll I said was you made the deal with me at $150 cash back. Tim made a statement about what other companies stand behind their products like me. UM Tim everyone I do business with and by the way I own my own business and stand behind everything I do. He was obviously annoyed at this.
All I did was ask you to honor the deal you presented to me. Tim Place I look forward to your response here in front of everyone.
I will admit the Place Diverter products are probably the best out there. I like what I have from there. I'm simply telling everyone here to buy their products online with a credit card.
What Tim doesn't know is I had $300 cash in my pocket. I really wanted this exact set up in white for my 21' Cobra. I had to know Tim was going to honor his deal and I would have put the cash back on the table with my $300 on top of it and asked for the parts with a smile.
I've been doing business on a handshake for 25 years now. It's not about the $50. It's about looking into someone's eyes, making a deal and shaking on it. Lesson learned :banghead:

Tim sent me a text last night.
Wasn't trying to hurt his business with my previous post, I did state place diverter products are some of the best out there. I was simply disappointed with the situation.

Glad to hear he steped up and made right on the deal
Thats the way it should be, to bad you had to put it out
There to get it resolved.

If anybody is interested Tim never made good on his word. Guess he simply wanted people to think he would honor the deal he offered. >:D
By the appearance of his shop it didn't look like $50 would make much of a difference. Enjoy it bud, as good as your products are I will never spend a dime with you again.

I have done biz cash there and not a problem.
I'm sorry for what problems you had there. Have you gone back in person to reconcile or just phone conversation?

dam, that sucks to hear.
I have dealt with Tim many times and cash and hand shakes.
Maybe there was some mis-communication or mis understanding.
I have spent a bunch of money with him, and he has always had time to sit with me and talk about what setups I should run.
every time he has recommended a product to me, it was the right choice and worked perfect.
just my .02 sorry you had an issue. But I also know Tim and if you called him to discuss this i think he would figure out how to make it right.

There was no mis-communication or mis-understanding here.
He made me an offer, I accepted, he changed the deal when I went back.
Then he offered to make it good and didn't.
I made the 90 mile drive each way twice. Won't do it again.
