Hey everyone glad to find a groups of ppl with knowledge and in my state better yet I just bought my first Jetboat last weekend at 24 I’m beyond exited and had so much fun on it. Just looking for some tips on docking and running low speeds anyone personally use a rudder? Was a
lil tricky pulling to dock her up I’m sure it will just be a familiarity thing and I’ll. Get more confidence and feel comfortable

A rudder is nearly useless without water flowing past it.
It takes seat time. And knowing when to blip the throttle.
Reverse in a jet boat is basically not forward.
After enough seat time, you'll be able to crab it to the dock, moving the whole boat sideways, like parallel parking.

Thank you for the response I figured it’s just a familiarity thing I been going out daily since I got it. Lol I’m in Los Banos , California The lake is called O’Neil forebay off hwy 152 and hwy 5 small lil lake by my fathers and strict on inspections make sure the boat doesn’t have a single drop in it they love denying boats 🤦♂️😂

When docking, I finally learned that you use the FOR/REV lever to control speed. Step on throttle just off idle and use the lever to ease into where you are trying to get the boat to go. Wanna go slow, less forward. It takes a little practice, but I found this method to give me better control than blipping the go pedal and swinging the steering wheel left and right. Hope this helps. Thank u all for the help here man this site is bad ass! I’ve been taking her out all the time water is 15 mins away and I’ve been sitting around since maybwith a broken ankle I’m like a runner and i was ready to snap and they let me loose just in time so I traded one of my bikes for this boat since I can’t ride ima get my asshole puckered up somehow🤷♂️😂😂
