Title: Dodged a bullet
Post by: muffbro on March 18, 2013, 12:53:53 PM
Had quite the thunderstorm blow in about an hour ago.  Damaged my roof.... Trees down.... Totally destroyed boat garage.... But I lucked out..... The garage was blown into the pine tree and a large branch poked a hole thru the structure holding it up!  GF called.  I flew home and hooked up to my boat and pulled it out.  A lot my parts I had laid out are scattered in my neighbors pasture...   But the boat is ok...

sZhZizt!!!!!    There goes the first trip $$$$.  Deductible is $1500.0

Yup...... I'm thankful the tree 'caught ' the garage.   I'm thinking serious damage had it fallen back down on the boat

again,  I feel ur pain...our roof blew off in Nov 2011 in a freak wind storm ( 92 mph ). took two days off work to do temp. tarping. took 2 weeks to chase down adjuster, worst winter of my life (tarps flapping over most of the house), leaking badly into garage, insurance company completely overwhelmed (USELESS). new roof finally installed 5 months later.  hope yours goes smoother and if you need a shoulder....... :'(

Thx Mid..... I got the temp tarp on the roof last night, cleared most of the broken branches/debris.... Ins company is supposed to get an adjuster out within 48 hours...meanwhile I'm looking today for a temp spot to store the boat. I have the damn thing half apart going multiple refit/upgrades....,I don't want to
Leave it outside. Elec co is supposed to come and reset the power pole that was blown askew out front as well.

Adjuster came by yesterday! Hopefully the process will be better than your experience. You pay and pay for coverage and if something happens you expect to have the company stand behind you and do ya right.... We'll see.

Yes, It could have been worse...damage wise that is....... Now I'm dealing with an adjuster who I'm thinking believes the claim money is coming out of his own pocket.

He's dodged me for a week but I got him coming to my office tomorrow AM ....I'm gonna tune him up.
