Looks about like mine

Your whole problem is the distributor is in the way ;D
j/k I would let a Ford pull me on a tube.... ;) I like the spacer, here is a little .02c, when I mount the carb flanges, I normally use 5/16" allen headed set screws and cut them so there is only 1/8" or two threads sticking out the top (cut the bottom where the go in the hole) It seems trivial but really cleans up the look, another "cheap trick" is to use stainless steel allen bolts, makes it look less "industrial".
BTW you said "too high" LOL... >:D
-
yeah yer right...i guess it wont look too dumb w/ the scoop on...is that the nostalgia scoop that jim brock was selling?

Pick it up from Jim at the races in Long Beach. At that time they had made a prototype and I believe it is a 1/2 inch wider than these old ones. Can you tell I'm going for the old school look. Rogers had this style scoop back in the day.
-
oh yeah, i remember now, i met you at the time you picked the scoop up...yeah, i heard he is going to make them himself now or something...i would'nt mind having one of those also..

i got the same manifold and adapter/spacer....and i thought the same thing.
once you get the fuel lines ran and the throttle cable, etc....it evens it out...

Yeah, but that one looks gay! besides, it looks like your boat crapped a football! :o ;D
;DJ/K
Question though, why have I seen so many throttle cables run like that? Is that some SoCal gang thing? ;D
-
its the throttle cable i had that came off my cousin's SBC.....it is obviously too long so i ran it around like that to take up some of the slack. i have since replaced it.
-
by the way....notice i also have a 1" spacer on top of the dominator adapter.

Ohhhh. Another curiosity only question, how did you determine the additional spacer would help and not hinder?, reason for asking we always had a "four corner lean out" when we used more than a 2" of spacer on our Stealth manifolded 6500 RPM BBC, don't know if it was typical, but the repeatability on the dyno was scary.

thanx brad, yeah ur right it does look much better w/ all the hardware on it, and even better once i mounted the scoop yesterday.

only thing different I would've done (besides allen bolts) is to polish intake and spacer. You can always do that next time you freshen it up. I wasn't sure I would like polished intake but I really love the way mine came out. Now my carb looks afu, need to have it powder coated lol.
