i have to remove my shoe/sandal/whatever to get it to fit in my foot pedal... wondering what you guys are using that might be a little more foot friendly? i think the one i have is a REX.

just one of those things that drives me nuts...

arent you like 6 foot something tall? You might be S.O.L...My flips fit great in my foot pedal, but that's only a size 11! if anything it seems the fabricated foot pedals seem to be larger, and larger $$$$, but that might be an answer for you!

6'2, but size 11 here too. i dunno dude it doesnt fit. so i gotta tuck my sandals in the corner, and put em on and take em off and put em back on, etc.
maybe riverdad gave me the "ladies pedal" or something. it seems to be like a universal foot though, for both right and left side. its not really shaped like a foot.

my flips actually fit in my pedal at size 11, but actually prefer the barefoot part! it seems to be a toss up though between foot throttle's sometimes my flips fit in the pedal and some other brand flips dont, also the same pair of flips fit certain pedals...hopefully your picking up what im putting down!

I wear a 10 1/2 or 11 and can't even get close to fitting my flip/flop in my pedal.
We laugh about getting waffle foot because of the pattern on the Hondo pedal.

Why would you want to? You're in a boat, you're supposed to be barefoot

My thoughts exactly.. once I get in my boat the sandals get put away and its bare foot all day.

i am a size 13 in my flops and it fits perfect on my pedel dont no why you having trouble :o
-
Iits a boat, in water.. usually people dont wear shoes or anythng in that situation.. plus i thinks its better barefoot...
-
yeah i have the rexmar "push" foot throttle, if you look it looks more like a clown shoe than a foot shape. look at the lightning one below it. guess ill keep a look out for a lightning pedal.

ok kidding aside..
what about trimming the toe and inside arch egde down then your foot can rest on the heel and right side? i know its hard enough to keep your foot on the pedal anyways with the edge ;).

Who was kidding? I think the vast majority of us barefoot these things............AND, I think that was taken into account in gas pedal design IMO.
Suck it up and drop the shoe.......... ;)

My size 12 fits into the new pedal, took the Hondo one off when I redid everything else. Placing the flip-flop in there just makes it a little more comfortable on the foot 8)[attach=1]

now thats a nice lookin pedal!
do they make ones that mount the other side though? i have a center stringer down the keel that id prolly mount a plate to, and then mount the pedal to that, but its on the other side... and i need a pull... i didnt like my throttle cable going down the center of my boat so i looped it around the front and down the side.

The mounting bracket/brace was all custom fab., so anything is possible.
