Fukushima.
I'm just throwing this out there and I don't want you to think that this is in any way a personal attack...
I will never say "the fish is safe, go ahead and eat as much as you can of it"...
However.
From what I know and have learned over the last 17 years working around X-ray, radiation labs and mocked up nuclear power plants with GE and PG&E, your concerns are not without merit, but somewhat misguided.
To say you "wont eat fish caught in the Pacific" is just silly.
Why would you eat fish everywhere but the Pacific? So your saying you would eat fish/seafood from the Gulf? You would eat fish/Seafood form the China sea?
Where I am going with this is that if you eat a farm raised fish, say a salmon, you are consuming an amount of methylmercury and PCB's several times greater than a fish caught in the wild, is that OK?
Gamma radiation is most detrimental/dangerous when it is inhaled, via mists and vapors, not necessarily by ingestion into the gut. So my recommendation would be to go ahead and enjoy some seafood once in a while, but don't breathe the fog off the California coast. Technically the fog will harm you quicker attacking the lymph systems..
Just my humble opinion and you can let it mean nothing at all, just couldn't leave it lie there...
