Storage for items onboard
« on: June 18, 2015, 04:07:45 PM »
Like most of you, My Weiman does not have much if any storage at all for things like wallets, phones, cameras, sunscreen, etc.

What do you use? I was considering getting a pouch of some sort and mounting it to the side of the seat under the gunnel for things like that. Phones, keys, wallets, lake use passes, coozies,  etc.

I do not have any storage under my seat, i lowered them a little bit from where they were. I guess a backpack could work, but thats kind of large and in the way. I was putting stuff liek this on the floor infront of the passenger seat. but one launch and my phone went flying into the balancer.

what say you?

Well to be honest , I dont bring my wallet. I know my drivers # . Now as far as to where I put other stuff , either I. My seat with me or in the next seat. Or on the floor. My reg goes in a ziplock bag and under my seat cushion.

I was going to have a zip-able bag made for both sides under the gunnel.

I was thinking of building a DIN sized box and using a stereo faceplate cover to make a "glovebox" too. Seems like the dash would be a good spot to keep stuff dry for people that forget ziplock bags for their phones.

How about a PVC tube with a cap at one end and on the other side a cap that screws on and off

Yep. And if you don't overfill them, they float.

I use a pelican box for $30 hard case and water proof. No dropped keys in the water or ruined phones.

Other than worse case scenario all the stuff you don't want to get wet you have to dump out to shovel water... Anything that I don't want to get wet goes in a water proof case I got form west marine, it's very similar to the ones above. All the other stuff can be replaced, that's what insurance it for (just know your coverage).
