Devote.....that's scary. San Andreas is right there. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Learn to swim.

Actually studies show that multiple smaller quakes near San Andres actually relieve presure preventing a Big Quake. Just what I have studied at one point.

I'll take three thousand 5 and under quakes,  went through the '89 7.2 magnitude and you can have those. That's some powerful stuff.

The San Andreas fault literally runs 300 yards behind my parents house in Gilroy. There is a rock the size of a VW bug that is split in half across the fault line and the halves are nearly 40 feet apart. It's very humbling to see

I was working at a Chrysler dealer at the time and we had a police car get thrown off the alignment rack (no one was there at the time).

I was standing just outside my parents garage and it literally threw all the camping gear off the shelves into the middle of the garage,  a few seconds later a wall of water about 6" deep came through the garage from the backyard. It literally shook 2 feet of water out of the pool.

It was insane.

94 Northridge quake was an eye opener for me. I was 12 years old and thought that my brother and his friends were jumping on my bed to wake me up. He had some buddies spending the night. Needless to say I was a bit freaked out for a min when I realized what was going on.

I lived in an apartment in North San Bernardino during the '92 Big Bear & Landers quakes.  It was very strange to watch my living room twist while standing in the doorway.

I live in landers and saw linn lane split and shift 8 feet, and water lines break and get pushed out of the ground.MyFriend don his garage fell 4 feet in to the fault. Out in Johnson valley the fault shot up 18 feet high on one side. That was a crazy summer it seemed like each time you would go in the house there was a big after shock and you would run back out it was like that for about a week. 4.4s aren't that bad  when they get over 5.5 then they get scary.

I guess when your driving 80mph down the highway you dont feel it.  But i was at home when the 89 quake hit a big 18 wheeler drove by the front of my house and then the quake started

When the '89 quake hit, I was on Pearblossom Hwy, between Little Rock and Pearblossom, driving an F350, at 60 mph, pulling 14K lbs, and when it hit, the whole front end of the truck felt like 'death wobble' for about 10-20 seconds. KLOS broke the news about a minute later.

I was in Lucerne Valley when the Landers and Big Bear quakes hit, only time I've ever seen the desert 'roll' like waves.

The '94 quake, I was scheduled to be in Chattsworth that monday morning, but the job canceled on sat afternoon, I would have been right at the 5/14 truck route interchange when it hit. (the one that fell down and a chp motorcycle cop was killed)

I guess I've been lucky

I was at work when the last one hit and it's weird watching shelves full of parts swaying back and forth then watching all the employees run out from between them nothing fell though
