Title: El-Capitan (The Next Generation)
Post by: The Chaz on August 04, 2007, 09:14:20 PM
Well I had a perfect day @ the lake today.  Very happy with my rebuild.  If anyone is interested I will be going back out tomorrow most likely very early to get a good beach spot in the north arm.

My family boat is running like crap  :'(  running exactly like it was before it caught fire, problems idling, problems at low speed, runs good at high speeds. Had a good day anyway  ;D  met up with a friend of mine in his v-drive and met with The Chaz for a while. Sorry I didn't have a beer to share with you The Chaz  :(

I figured out how to make a video with my camera. After I ran out of camera space I figured out you can zoom in before you start the video but not after  :D  so I have some pretty crappy video's to share of The CHaz with his 2 year old son in his lap and a few of my friend's v-drive. The camera doesn't record sound. Now I'm going to try and figure out how to post crappy video's   ???   :D

I couldn't figure it out   ???   ::)  I'll try to in test in a little while...   ;D

v-drives are truly amazing machines. I finally got to drive one and was only impressed by everything about it. The only thing I didn't like about the drive was how "floppy" the hull felt and looked but I am sure that is directly related to the hull's lay-up itself and not the fact that it's a v-drive. The boat I drove is a flatbottom and handled wakes extremely well, turns on a dime, acceleration is closer to how a car feels than how a jet drive feels, a lot less load on the engine than a jet drive, and was able to cruise the boat on a plain easily at 2500 RPM. I am now 51% sure the Rogers will go bye bye and I'll get a v-drive instead.

BTW, if anyone knows how to post crappy video's that play on window's media player please let me know.

I knew you wouldnt finish that Rogers and (wtf ) You said, flatbottem's handles wakes  extremely well. Were you on drugs again. Buy a flat and lets go to Havasi and see what that flat can do.hahaha  Now go ride in a tunnel and see what it can handle.  (waves + flatbottom =  pain in your ass) You better stay with your bayliner.

Had a blast at the Lake O0    Good to see you there Hotrod56cars ;)  Glad to see you got the boat running again.  Looked like you had a blast with the family.  I wish we had a pic of that launch >:D  I did notice the power loss from the lower compression pistons  >:(  Oh well maybe it will last longer this time.
