Anyone know what the new mandate for 15% ethanol is gonna do to jet boats? We are not familiar with it here in Texas what can any of you tell me about it here?

From what I have read....I think you can run more compression  ???

Gotta modify fuel system as well  ???

You will need to have alcohol resistant fuel lines if you don't already. The ethanol can permiate through it posing a possible fire hazard..

More compression and or more ignition timing is more doable also (alcohol has a very high octane rating).

As a negative the mileage will drop 2-5% because there are less BTU's per pound in ethanol versus gasoline and it dies quicker (ages) because of the affinity for water.... :banghead: Meaning get a good water separating fuel filter..

Other than that it's wonderful stuff  :screwy:

On this subject, my 2008 Tundra, while it wasn't billed as a flex fuel vehicle, could I run E85 in it? I've got to assume all the lines and whatnot are good to go?

Wait im a little bit lost here edjucate me...Is ethenol like alcohl in our drag quads where it eats everything (not so much eats but dries out)
