Title: F$%king Theives
Post by: UltraRed on November 06, 2012, 11:52:09 AM
My F250 was stollen from out front of the house yesterday morning . The neighbor two houses up has surveilence on the front of there house. You can see them pull up at 4:42 in the morning still 4:42 and the damn dome lights turn on and at 4:44 the headlights turn on and the truck is gone. The assholes were fast. Unfortunately we cant see any license plates in the video so who knows if we will ever see that truck again.

Since it was for sale, congrats. I wish my fiancée's Mazda would get stolen so we wouldn't have to deal with tire kickers.

Nothing makes you feel more violated than getting ripped off. My trucks both have business cards in between the dash and windshield that cover up my the vin #'s. Wouldn't believe how easy it is to get keys made at dealership parts departments.

Im just worried that the truck if recovered will be screwed up from being driven stupidly. Its a 4x4 diesel so who knows what the idiots will be up to in it... i know it would be fixed by insurance but is it really ever fixed

I wish it was still like horse and buggy days you stole a horse from someone they hung you if they still did that today there would be alot less stealing going on

Sorry to hear that, but hopefully they don't find it and you get all that's owed from insurance.
I hear you on the personal items, though. At least no one was hurt in the process.

-----FOUND-----
Havent seen the truck yet and my insurance is going to be picking it up in the next few days to do an appraisal on it. So probably will not see it for a little bit. But the tow yard said it looks to be drivable and in good condition. The fingers are crossed.

probably same shit with mine.  the police dept said they usually steal big vehicles to be used in a burglary of some sort to haul something.  once it runs out of gas they usually ditch it.  mine was found by street sweeping bone dry.  i had to bring a gallon of gas to the impound yard to get it home.

Back in Ohio, around 1996 or so, I had a townhouse and was upstairs in my bedroom on the phone with a G/F at about 3 AM (Inventory day). I always parked my company Exploder in the driveway and my GTO stayed in the garage across from the driveway.

Anyway, I hear some noise out the open window and see these 3 cats scoping out the Exploder (It had a 2x10" sub box, extra tweets and about 1600 watts of amps in the back I challenged employees to build using only Radio Shack equipment). Still talking to the G/F, they leave. I keep an eye out the window and they come back and one is carrying a Gym Bag. Soooooooo......I hang up, call 911 reporting a car theft or burglary in progress....... Grab my 10mm and sneak out the front door. As I round the back, they're working a jimmy bar into the passenger door and never hear me until I snick the safety off and order them to stop, and step away from the truck. They try to run, I fired 2 rounds into the ground and they stopped immediately!

Of course, now I've gotten all the neighbors up, who come out to see me with 3 perps on their knees in the middle of the parking lot at gunpoint. A couple came and helped me make sure none were armed, then the cops showed up (A tense moment there for a second or two). Once the cops realized what was going on, one says to the other, "Hey, lets go take a couple laps around the block, I could use a coffee anyway, and if he just shoots them, less paperwork for us." And they got back in the car (just for a second, to be funny). One kid wet himself. Wasn't one of them over 16. ;)

Funny thing about Ohio! I never had any legal issues with that incident, but coulda. Ohio has NO Concealed carry law or "defense" precedents! I have licenses that cover me in every one of the 49 other states EXCEPT Ohio, where I'm from.

Now, I carryed a gun there anyway (Fock them! At least I'll be alive!), as I did anywhere anyway, especially since making large bank deposits at night, etc (I worked retail), But I always credited the G/F for that instance because she kept me on the phone (She was actually pissed off about something I did, who knows what I did or said, I forget now) Had it not been for that, the little bastards woulda suceeded.

In that hood, we didn't have real issues with that, overall. About once a year we'd have a car broke into, shit stolen, but no stolen vehicles. I lived there another 5 years and we NEVER had another single instance. You could leave your lawn mower out, car unlocked, it was still there in the morning, untouched.

It is up too LEO to "investigate" crime after it happens, which does NOT give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. It is up to US to "prevent and defend ourselves and property BEFORE or DURING it happening".
