I was once very heavy into Rock Crawling . It was my obcession prior to boating , and one time me , turbo350r and another buddy made the trek via sacramento to Reno Nevada where there held an event . We knew one of the guys competeing (yellow and black buggy) and it was freezing (to me anyways) and someone was serving the best biscuits and gravy that have ever graced my palet . One of the best times I've ever had .

Then I rolled this for awhile, some guy in Texas offered me stupid money for it, I sold it.....
(https://www.socaljetboats.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi8.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fa36%2Fluckiestiff%2FMOCO%2FsportcoupeTRK.jpg&hash=8f811d8cfbd03e448af457ddadb0361c791aa17e)
Then there was this old survivor, Larry Shinoda (designer of the Corvette) owned this little truck in the late 40's, I got it in '06, his old car club cronies wanted to build it back to it's former late 40's self, they're a great bunch of old fukkers so I sold it to them for what it owed me.
(https://www.socaljetboats.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi8.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fa36%2Fluckiestiff%2FRandom%2520Shit%2Fskip-rpu.jpg&hash=988d7f9bcb8fab14dfcaaf0d93e0bf1c65d4da43)
Same truck in '46 @ El Mirage Dry Lake, note the numbers on it, Larry would drive it out from Pasadena, race it, then drive it home. Neat fucking guy.
(https://www.socaljetboats.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi8.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fa36%2Fluckiestiff%2FRandom%2520Shit%2Fshinoda1.jpg&hash=6d38e968ae9b3bdc9b79ee2207e12d4faf3375ec)
The next victim, think 1964 SFV hot rod, no hood, cheater slicks, 421 Pontiac w/ a 6X2 setup, 4 speed, 4.13 gears, should be a blast to drive.

Skip, do you have any pics of the flat black F100. I have a 62 unibody short bed with a big back window I want to build and was thinking about doing something along that line.

That truck and the kid that owns it hail from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Lee is the kid's name, in 2005 when he was a mere 19 years old he decided he wanted to see the Hot Rod Reunion with his own eyes rather than in a magazine. He saved up some cash, and headed south, he stuck around here until his visa finally expired and he couldn't get another extension w/o going home for a year, he's been back several times. The truck has since been sold to a good friend in New Zealand. Here's a few shots of it

This is my favorite incarnation of this, he bolted on 55 Chevy fenders out back, and Astro Supreme wheels
This is when he first hit town

It just dont sound right, chevy fenders on a ford, but looks killer. Thanks for the inspiration Skip. I gotta '56 Chev in the garage I gotta get going on and a blown small block on the stand slated for a 33, 34 coupe
-
psst hey hd, i think someone stole your crank ;D
-
Thanks Skip
I wasn't sure how something like that would be accepted by the kustom crowd.
Looks like I'll get started on it as soon as I finish my CJ5 and maybe go through the boat ;D
-
Yeah it does sound kind of odd, but as you can see, it looks like Henry should have made 'em that way! Another guy I know has a chopped 53 F100, 56 Chevy rear fenders on it, looks like it came that way. Another buddy has a 41 Ford P/U, with 48 Ford CAR rear fenders, yeah, it looks killer.
-

I leave the motor apart till it's time, The steel crank, rods, rings and bearings are below the motor. Also, I paint the heads and blocks the car color. Pull the motor apart, no gaskets, then put it together fresh and ready to go. If you want to take the motor apart later its not all glued together around gaskets and bolts. ;D

Crew I took that pic a few weeks back at the Marina at San Diego , that Beautiful Eliminator boat belongs to a very famous person and that baby mako "changed hands" there at the SD marina and was "flopped" on the deck for the photo op Tom
edit note ,for the record IMO that Baby should NOT have been "taken" , but released to mature (OK I'm not an ocean swimmer)
-
Just scanned these of my 1978 Eliminator Sport Cruiser. Pics were taken in 1982

Originally belonged to a friend of mine, 71 SS w/ a 402 under the hood. My brother-in-law bought it from him, but he had traded the 402 for a 305 and some cash :screwy: I just borrowed it for the photo shoot.
He traded for my van for a day when it still had the 402 in it. Tore up some fuel that day. He needed my van to take his girlfriend to the prom.
-
looks like some good memories and a fun time ;D but put a 305 in it :screwy:
