My G/F's work was also closed for today as well, most of her co-workers said they couldn't make it to work due to freeway closures. Me, I'm sick as hell with some sort of flu/cold combo and have to work. Waaaaaaa :'(

I just got a phone call saying the houses are now on fire.....don't know how true this stands though...its 3rd hand info... I think im gunna head back home soon just to keep an eye on shit.

Post by: Brad @ SCJB on October 22, 2007, 05:55:58 PM: I took another handfull of pictures today after I got back home....all is well with this fire and as far as i know no houses burned down.....the other fires werent so nice....i heard 128 homes have burned down in arrowhead and they wont see air support until tomorrow due to high winds. :(

i will post some pictures later when im done exercising my muscles in my arm in an up/down left/right motion.

All the pictures I have already uploaded are on myspace and are lacking in detail. They really don't bring home just how close the fire was... However you can see the helictopters and planes flying 50-100 feet over my head.

In the pictures on the street where fire engines are visible, the fire is burning along the walls at the back of the homes on the left. Wind is blowing from right to left. If you were watching the news as they were covering Stevenson Ranch I was on local channels 2-4-7. Nothing heroic, just standing in the driveway taking pictures, haha. Camera man sat there recording me for two-three minutes. Never said a word, was just standing there looking at me through his camera...

I really need to invest in a camera for the site.

For those of you that have never heard of it, it's a "biker bar" in Silverado Canyon here in Orange County. It's about 3 miles up the street from my house and they have been open 24/7 since the fires started to feed the police and fireman. Most of the guys/gals looked pretty tired but seem to all be in good spirits. A big thank you to all the men and women that saved ALOT of houses down in my neck of the woods. Enjoy the pics.

Based on what I saw down here, I'm not sure if the police should really have been so celebrated... Here they did a great job of getting in the fire men's way. Parking their cars around the fire engines while the cops enjoyed the view. I know not all of them can be included in this group, but everywhere I went in this valley, that seemed to be the case. "Help drag a hose or get the hell out of the way!" was one fireman's response...
