well i like boating, and i like drinking, so there fore i must like to go fishing. but i never have any freaking luck! :banghead: soo how about some help from the locals, san pedro, long beach harbor, redondo beach and santa monica bay, any one care to share some stories and favorite spots? the only place i had luck was in king harbor next to the bait dock i caught a massive buzz :)

i love to fish, last season i was on the water at least 4 times a week. new job put an end to that :mad: but still drop the fishing boat in when ever i can, mostly bass fish in lb harbor area or if the reports sound good ill head offshore. getting super pumped for lobster this year ^-^the best advice i ever got on fishing was "you cant catch em on the damn couch" so thats my advice to you. just go fish worst case is your on the water having fun.

Let us know what your going for, what ur using, when your going, and so on, might be able to give you a couple pointers. , havent been in a while but it sure is fun..

Fishing guy here too... i dont fish in harbors or piers but i can tell you this. Right now is the time to go out on a boat and fish 7 to 30 miles out. Water is very warm. I went out of oceanside two weeks ago ...26 miles out 72 degree water! The Kelp patties have schools of yellow tail and dorado ! Hell ya !!!! tuna!!!!!! Saw dorado under a patty 7 miles out no joke... so heres the phuuuuuuced up part.... caught nothing! So im pissed and the pops and i are goin back out sunday. Fish that week were not biting in our waters according to fish and game. People who caught fish used live sardine bait.... so thats were we messed up. We heard the bite was on fire and tuna where biting anything so we brought everhthing except live.... why? 50 bucks a scoop!!!! Ya f that. So round two and 100 bucks worth of bait this weekend. Let you know what happens

dude u can fish all those areas first off if fishing marinas do it at night fish by marina lights or under other boats or down break walls leaving marinas and u can probly hit sand bass maybe a calico sometimes sculpin or halibut or two using strips of squid or get head on shrimp at local asian markets(should be cheaper there) tie ur hook on end of line and 18 inches up make a dropper loop for ur sinker(u can google knots if u dont know em) so bait floats in current use #2 owner gorilla hooks. now if u do hit the kelp patties need a couple hooks real small # 5 or 6 for perch cuz of small mouth and they will hit above baits throw out close to kelp not in cuz u will lose alot of gear and put sinker on end of line and make 2 dropper loops and hang ur hooks on those two fish at a time >:D. if u see yellow tail or durado u want a live bait get an battery powered airrator for a cooler and stop at the bait tank and buy anchovies or squid(live) u should get carolina rig(small rubber cylinder with slot cut in center) half ounce sliding sinker and 2/0 owner live bait hooks. now slide 1/2 oz sinker on line then get carolina rig and use pliers to squeeze open and slide on behind sinker leave an 18 inch of line then tie on hook. hook anchovie through bottum jaw out forehead cast em out as close to kelp as possible keep reel open and pull line out for him dont tire him by letting hime take line try to judge how much linee u let out to get him by kelp he'll naturally wanna hide in it when u think he's made it kepp thumb gently on ur spool and make him work for line yellowtail or durado, calicobass, tree bass even sheep head will smash it let em run for 3-4 sec close ur reel and set hook. hope this helps i fish almost every week or mutilple times each week.
