Title: Flooring

I'm getting ready to install the carpet this weekend but before I do I wanted to lay a piece of wood between the stringers to mount my foot pedal. Any recommendations on what kind of wood to use and what to treat it with?

. Marine grade plywood a apply a couple coats of resin.

A piece of right angle aluminum. That way its set to what ever height or angle you desire.
