This is in the No Wake Zone. ;D
Basically, I ran out of money before I bought all of the correct parts for what I want to achieve (engine only). All the parts I have are correct except for the heads (way too small runners and way too small valves). I'm thinking about getting a Summit card, 360 days same as cash for purchases over $500 (monthly mininum payment required) which means when next year's tax return comes in I can pay them off and still have cash left over from the return. It sounds too easy and like a kid in a Candy Store I have to be not thinking straight on this idea that I have. The heads that I'm looking at come "loaded" with all the parts I would be buying even if I bought them "unloaded" (titantium locks, retainers, 7 degree, triple springs handle 800 lift, ss big valves, etc...) and are less expensive than buying them unloaded and buying the valvetrain seperately.
:banghead:

360 Days huh? Be right back, going to summit website................................ ..........

Rod,
There is nothing wrong with using thier money while you still gain interest on your own money sitting in the bank. I have done that same thing through Best Buy for my new flat screen,digital camera, computers, etc. As long as you continue to make the strokes every month and PAY IT OFF before 360 days youre golden ;D

Super Shops offers the same card with the same terms!

If I bought them at Super Shops what would the advantages for me be? Do I still pay for the extra (cylinder heads) shipping charge? ???
BTW, you never gave your opinion on my idea. >:( It's the no wake zone - let me have it. :D

Does the term "Glutton for punishment" mean anything to you? Rod are you drinking already?
-
Dont do it Rod ! You'll be realy pissed if you still owed money on a pile of broken/melted parts :banghead:. Just be patient, you'll find a deal on what you need/want. ;D

Yes. :banghead:
No, but if I get enough answers in here I may start to. So far all I'm getting is encouragement. Where's Omar when I need him? >:D

Wait a minute, here's one of them now... even if I found used heads I need for my app/goal they'd cost me $1,400+ and for a little less than another 1K they'd be new. As far as the pile of broken/melted parts, why I ought to :mad:

Your right Rod, just charge it . You can always get home equity loan to pay it off and build the next motor. :screwy:

NOT an option. I owe waaaaayyyyy more than it's worth due to the purchase time and current resale value's. Besides, Our President Bush has stopped home equity lines.

Damnit! :mad: >:( :banghead:

I would this with the major components . Then buy odds and ends little at a time . It's kind of like Lay-a-way except that you have your parts and can go on with machining .

This is exactly why I dont do it . Very tempting though .

What's that old expression? "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is" Seems like that applies here.
-
Turd Burgler! Love it!!! Go a head and do it Rod but remember that once you sign for that card your credit score will drop 30-40 points! :o Funny how they never tell ya that...

Holy sh!t :o How are you?
That's exactly what I was thinking.... but damnit...

(checxk the edit on that! ::) )
... that makes sense. ;)

:banghead: I got approved for $1300 on $2300 heads. :banghead:
Marc will hopefully be able to work some magic and get me a pair of Dart's for $1400.

I think that boat is going to go way faster then you want to go.....do you have a helmet/lifeline? My boat goes faster then I need to go w/ the 990's on it.

It takes more than just Hp to make a jet boat fast, but the HP won't hurt. If I could get my sh!t together I think it would be in the low to mid mid 80's with a mis-matched pump. Very close to and possibly in the low triple digits with a "matching" pump and hull. But the way it's feeling right now I don't think the phukin thing is ever going to hit the water under my ownership. When the boat gets scary enough I upgrade safety equipment as needed.
I can't figure out how to empty the 2 saddle tanks into the T tank without over filling the T tank or emptying the T tank before all the fuel is out of the saddle tanks. I need some sort of float operated fill system/switch operated fill system for the T tank so I can get fuel from the saddle tanks into the T tank without overfilling the T tank...
No one said it would be easy or fun ???

sounds like a great plan! ;D

Rod , couldn't you run a overflow line from that bung on the top of the T- tank back to one of the fuel tanks and wouldn't that also act as a vent for the T- tank ???

The way this pic is drawn
[attachimg=#]
There is nothing to regulate how much fuel the electric fuel pump puts in the T tank and the T tank could easily spit fuel out of it's vents. This simple pic is a side veiw of the layout showing the height of each part.
[attachimg=#]
The short long tanks are the saddle tanks. The pink line is fuel coming out of the saddle tanks and going into a electric fuel pump or a stock style mechancial fuel pump. The bump in the pink line (about 4") are my stringers, huge problem! :banghead: Green line is fuel out of the electric fuel pump and into the top of the T tank. The yellow line is vents for my saddle tanks. Brown/tan is T tank's pickup tube just a few inches from the MFI's belt driven fuel pump.
At first I was thinking of going with KISS and using gravity for my benefit
[attachimg=#]
but the line going over the stringers is killing it. As soon as the fuel level gets lower than the stringer's highest point it's going to suck air and there will be fuel being unused just sitting in the saddle tanks.
Seems so simple but I can't :banghead: figure it out.
I went and looked at a very small tank that Plesh has for his MFI Hat system, it's basically a small rectangluar shaped aluminum tank about 12" X 6" X 6", on both ends of that tank is a Holley Double Pumper float bowl. Fuel goes out of his MFI's mechanical pump and goes into this Holley float bowl system which regulates the amount of fuel allowed into that small tank. I can do the same exact thing but use my T tank as my "Holley float bowl tank".
[attachimg=#]
I'm not very pleased with running this set up. I don't know for sure but I'm guessing Plesh's system is made for a car, a car that doesn't bounce around like a boat does.
That's all I got. :banghead:
-
LMFAO :o
Got it figured out. So simple that it hurts. :banghead:

I'm going to add a valve to each saddle tank (red dot).
[attachimg=#]
This will allow me to run at the local lake off of a 5 gallon T tank and not have to put fuel into my saddle tanks. These valves are going to be controlled by a cable, similar to a old choke cable with a knob on the end of it (just like how MFI barrel valve fuel supplie shut off's are controlled), and I can connect the two saddle tanks' vent valves together with a heater control cable thus closing both tanks with one control. The control/knob will get mounted in a switch panel that is going on the ride side of the driver's seat.
What was this thread about again?

Very technical thread jack of what use to be about using a credit card to buy cylinder heads ;D
I love the graphics though.

Gotta admit it, the boys got skills. He can sure jack a thread . ;)

Who the hell has over 4,500 post >:D His a post hoe. Oh ya nice pixs
