Sad part of it all is ford helped push the bail out bill because it was afraid that if the others went under the suppliers would go elsewhere. They were more for it than chevy, although they didn't need it or take it they did take over 6 mil of gov money to retool for a hybrid line that failed and never paid it back. Years prior.
But bottom line I will own a dodge before I own a ford.........and let's not get started on how crappy dodge is

Bottom line from my experience every motor has their upside and downside. I'm a chevy guy all the way but they have their weakness too, this is purely talking diesel, oh no I might have started another war here lol...i wish dodge ford and chevy would come together and build the "ultimate machine". Never gonna happen though.
My reason for being a chevy fan is not because my grandpa or dad owned one (I was born and raised in Europe not many America cars driving around) rather just the lines and looks of the chevrolet cars/trucks that drew me towards the bow tie.
Oh please sweet baby cheesus let chevy dodge and ford come together, share their wealth of knowledge and create the "ultimate American machine"

Have the looks and hp of a chevy with the dmax engine and alison trans. The 4x4 suspention and straight axles from the ford . And the interior from the dodge.

I have seen a turbo cummins engine married to a Alison transmission in an Excursion. Doubt we will ever see a production vehicle with this option, but it is still possible to make the ultimate American vehicle
