Found boat
« on: June 18, 2022, 09:52:32 pm »
So some time back in 2014 I started a thread on here with hopes to find my dads old boat . Over the years I have Kept an eye out for it. No luck until recently. Last week driving home I went to reply to a message on offer by  up ( I know I shouldn?t be driving and looking for deals ) . The search page came up and a boat caught my eye . I clicked on it and what do you know there she is . A   3 month old add with a sad looking boat .

My dad bought this boat in 78 new . Around 1992 he sold it to a good  friend
Of ours we who owned it till 2004 .
From talking to the owner it?s been sitting for 12 year?s rotting away .
She is asking $4k in its condition .
I personally don?t think it?s worth that much what do you guys think . Check out this item on OfferUp. https://offerup.co/UlG42b2GYqb

Wow, stoked for you.

Take tools, a battery, fuel, and a way to at least fill the fliat bowls to see if you can start it.

I would go and scrutinize every little thing that you need to repair, like does it run?  Has it sucked up any rocks?  Why has it been parked?

Everything today costs billions of dollars and it looks like the seller knows that operating that boat does as well, otherwise they wouldn't be throwing trash in it.

When you determine how much you want to spend, have that cash in one pocket.  Fan out the cash in front of the seller.  $3000 in bills laid out across the deck looks like a lot more than $4000 sounds.

In my experience, if I want something bad enough, I just get it and don't look back.  How long would it take you to earn back the difference between what the seller wants and what you want to spend?  Is it worth watching someone else driving around in your dream?

Someone bought what should have been my boat out from under me.  I had already made the deal with the guy after a thorough inspection.  Some POS walked in, with only 75% of our agreed price, right as we were starting the paperwork.  The kid fanned out the cash and the seller changed his mind.  I said, "I'm giving you full price."  The seller said, "The kid's got cash now."  That's never going to happen again.

Everything is Snoop Dogg High right now. I just checked out the ad and it was just ?updated? 11 hours ago, but still firm on the $4000. It doesn?t look too bad, but pics can be deceiving. Have you checked it out in person? If you have the money and it?s worth it to you, make an offer.
Like Joe (flusher) said cash in the face, changes people?s minds.
Flusher- By the way that dude taking the other deal after he made one with you was just wrong.

I have looked at the boat twice now . The lady selling it has a junkie that lives in her garage whispering in her ear . Telling her that he can make a bunch of money on it . The boat is wrecked. It needs interior a new pump , floors , the motor completely gone through,  paint tires , for the trailer , no title for the trailer ( she  keeps trying to say the boat title covers the trailer) .

Need to give that fool a little fentanyl.

In all seriousness, I'm just around the corner from you.  I'd be happy to help you any way I can (except the fentanyl).

Good luck
