Using the bar docks in Parker....
« on: June 10, 2016, 02:23:53 PM »
I always see boats getting sunk on the dock by big wake. What place on the river is good for low free board to dock and hang out for a bit?

If you're lucky, road runner and foxes have inside spots where you don't get slammed into the dock or shoved under. Road runner has a beach area too.

Pirates has docks in their lagoon behind the restaurant and off the main river as well.

Other than that, not many dock places. Sandbar across from Sundance, sandbar in the cove across from Blue Water, and cove past Buckskin with a beach. Other option is try to get an anchor to bite and just anchor bow out where ever you want.

I always tie up at Fox's like my picture below. If there isn't a spot like that I don't stop.

That's how I tie up in the middle of the week or in winter. I been asked to move against the dock when I tried this the last couple times during summer, but that is the best way to do it. I normally will just wait till the evening to go hang at Foxs

When I tie up nose out is there a trick on getting the anchor to catch quickly in the current ect or just toss and pray? I only have done it nose out with pre-placed anchors.

If it's not to deep I'll swim down and make sure it catches quickly but I usually have someone with me to hold the boat
