Bilge Pump Mounting question.
« on: April 17, 2016, 08:34:34 AM »
Im going to be installing two Rule 500 bilge pumps, and i just wanted to know how you guys are mounting them. I know they sell a separate bracket that goes together but that bracket won't fit anywhere on my hull. Are you guys epoxying the bottom cage to the hull?

I used liquid nails on the cage... I also added a float but still can override with the pull on the dash using the ground as the on/off.

I've been using a hot glue gun for 20 years. A little Scotch Brite to clean the bilge and rough up the bottom of the pump,  put a good amount of hot glue on the pump,  squish it down and go.

Has been doing fine through washes, water, oil, vibration,...ect. The hot glue would work well if you have that tool.

I use the little El cheapo from the local art supply store.  I think is was  $10 with a small bag of glue sticks.

It's pretty handy to have around.
