So for my new years present from work they decided to lay me off! great! ( I can still get good deals on race fuel) Ive been very active in my job search with 0 luck! Its is very frusterating.
Ive now decided Im going to take a chance and try and move to Phoenix. Chandler area prefered but ill take anywhere. First I need to find work out there. Does anyone know anyone hiring or anywhere you can get me in at. I can pretty much do anything, but have a strong mechanical and racecar/boat prep backround. I have a couch i can crash on for a bit but dont want to over stay my welcome. Im looking to start over and i think Phoenix might be a good place to start.
any thoughts or help?

don't let me discourage you , you might get lucky and find something, but i had the same idea and it is just as bad here as far as finding work. i wish i could help and i definitely feel your pain..

Welcome to my world. If I had a nickel for every resume I've sent, well I'd have a shitload of nickels I can tell you that! I too thought about a move to AZ, but the situation there is just as bad as here, except the pay scale sucks, and the costs aren't enough lower to justify the pay cut. Not by a long shot. Keep looking where you're at. What is it that you do?

I dunno, I kinda like it here! But then noones gonna pay me as much in Cali for what I do here either, I don't think, not enough to justify all the incredible taxes, cost of housing, etc.
I know Skip explored it pretty heavy. It's a big commitment. E-mail me your resume, I'll forward it to my brother. He knows EVERYONE in Phoenix tied to manufacturing. Happens to live in Chandler as well, he can help get you hooked up in the right circles maybe.
As far as pay fellers, that's the facts of life in these times. And I don't care if it's AZ, Cali or Arkansas, same all over! I hire people every week that are worth 2 and 3 times what I am allowed to offer them, still they say yes. And they're still here and great assets to us. They'll be in great positions as all this turns around, but it's surviving that part of it.

Thanks Ray, Ive emailed you my resume as well as a little work history and what I can do. I really appreciate everything. After a little pep talk from a close friend last night I am now clear that Phoenix is where I need to be. A fresh start with 0 chance for sidetracking. Just me and my work. I have the feelers out all over the greater Phoenix area. Hopefully I can land something. Little nurvious but very excited for the new start.
