long story short my forward/reverse cable has always been lame and never was really adjusted properly. fast forward to today, new cable, new shifter, new everything... it takes about 5" of travel for full forward to full reverse. but on the control side i only have from upright to forward which is about 2" of travel. i guess i need to extend my arm with a bracket to get another 3" of travel out of it since im not pushing a full forward and full reverse with it. ugh something thats supposed to be nice and simple, now completely frustrating.
any of you have any frustrating stories?

oh yah!!!! i have all kinds!!!! which is why i do not turn a wrench anymore for a living. use to work on rollsroyce, bentle and aston martin. biggest piles in the world!!!!! nothing was easy!!!so i feel ur pain. good luck.

Yeah, that's why I called you...but you were in Hawaii getting your balls locked up in someone's purse, so I figured I'd let you enjoy that and talk to you when you got back....then I forgot.

I used to turn wrenches also for a living but noting is easy on anything anymore and the factory has adjusted the warranty times so bad I would like to see one of those dam stuffed shirts they call engineers to come out here and go get the freakin car in the 115 degree parking lot which is two blocks away and test drive and fix problem for 0.3 of an hour warranty time and call that a living. It ios so bad you can not even replace the factory radio without hooking up to the OBD or computer with a direct link to GM aka Goverment Motors. Anyways I have dozens of stories for the fustrating and not so faint of heart with cars and customers :screwy:

ha!!! i second that!!! or work on one of the cars they design!!!!!!!! cause they put bracket on bracket. and now you cant get to a bolt with out pulling apart the whole car.!!!!! :banghead:

Oh my d*mn I know. My company the hire up field guys get to drive HHR's. Yeah did you know you literally have to remove the quarter panel to replace the head light bulb... Yeah that's insane. Something that should take me 5 mins, now takes 30.

the HHR, the WORST car ever made. worse than the aztec. enterprise in austin only stocked HHR's at one time and i always got stuck with one. what a pile.

Shit all you guys hating glass work. Seems like I could have a new business venture, since I like doing it .......for me the frustrating thing about working on a boat is leaning over the gunnels for hours and waking up the next day witha sore chest
