I have it on good authority that fuel will get to $6.00 by June.

Put that in your pickle jar.

Crude topped out at $105 today. :P  If you look at the trend, this has been a long time coming, unfortunately with governments being overthrown, there is no reason to think it will get better anytime soon... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Hold on to your nozzle.

Not trying to stir poo, but what make's anyone think that they can predict a 50% increase with any certainty in something that has so many variables that seem unrelated until they are suddenly not?   Seriously?

It's simple. Sort of  :-\

Gas prices almost always gain 10-15% in the spring. $4.10 X another 10% = $4.51. crude oil is rising by a bunch (technical for who the hell knows) crude was at $86 on the 14th of Feb, it would more than likely reach $115 by the end of April (demand goes up, so will the price), production will also have a price increase because we (Calif.) need to change to "summer blend". so lets say the crude costs go up 30% (that's real) and production goes up 5-10%, Oh and don't forget the new $.35 per gallon fuel tax from $.18 to start in July.... :screwy: :banghead: BAM, there's your 50%... :banghead:

I have worked with some high profile peeps from the Richmond refinery for a few years and these guys know their stuff......Lets just say we "had lunch"..... :sly:

I only occasionally blow it out of my ass  ::)....This is not one of those times... ;)

E85 was hovering around $3.29 the other day too.  But it's average is still WAY under what gasoline is going for.  ;)  Friggin Diesel was 3.79!!!  Lesseee............3.79 X 42 Gallons, divide by 14, carry the one........ah hell, the trucks just expensive to drive......... :banghead:

I ran E85 once in my flexfuel truck....I got about 8mpg average.  :sly:

I paid $3.59 here in vegas. Highest I've seen it since I moved here. It was $2.80-ish no more than 4 weeks ago.

I think brad was referring to running a tank of E85  as apposed to regular fuel. And because alcohol or in this case (methanol) burns at a higher fuel to air ratio (something like 9 or 10 parts air to 1 part fuel) and gasoline is like (13 or 14 parts air to 1 fuel) causing his mileage to go to crap and prob. is somewhere around 14 to 15mpg on gas. So the lesson I learned is E85 is a bit cheaper but you use 1 and half times as much of it ....= no savings!
The flip side is it sure does burn a lot cleaner.    ........sorry about the thread jack. ::)

In the 70's when we had an oil embargo that was the time to exploit our natural resources instead we keep sending the bucks to the middle east so they can kill our military, etc. Iran is close to developing nukes, thanks to their oil $, if you watch the DVD "Iranium the movie" they will definetly be nuking us, all it takes is a cargo ship off our shore to explode an EMP nuclear bomb and we are toast. Politicians are the dumbest people on earth.

That was kinda my point! The whole reason for building this latest boat engine was cheap, high-performance fuel. and not $6.50 a gallon race fuel or AVgas...........

When I started this engine, E85 was a solid buck fitty below gasoline! I haven't even got it into the boat yet or fired and I'm getting focked.........lol.  >:D

Tell me, why the "F" is corn fuel climbing with fossil fuels. Other than capitalism they should have no connection. Right? I love my capitalist nation! Even when they plow me on the pooper on E85.

Almost 40% of the energy to make ethanol comes from fossil fuel, soooooo...It should track like fox hound.

E85 and other alcohol type fuels are a farce...Until more efficient ways to distill it come up, it will never be sustainable IMHO  :sly:

Give it 2 weeks and we will have an all new record high! Not saying the prices are his fault but I dont see much action to try and rectify.
