Title: GoPro Questions
Post by: crewchief22 on December 25, 2011, 06:41:58 PM
I got a GoPro HD today and was wondering what people were using for a SD card?

Have you had any problems with a card?

this is what I use with mine. i got them from Frys. At the time they were double for what they are listed here.

are you having problems with your current card? I remember reading somewhere that there was some brands gopro was having compatibility issues with. but that was with their early versions (before the wide screen HD versions)

No problems, but I still need to get a card fot it and was looking for info.

About how much recording time do you get out of a 16gb card?   I understand it depends on what settings you're using, but...

I'm going to set up a couple mounts on the dirt bike tomorrow while getting ready for the desert trip next weekend.

I am using the setting "r3" which is 720p @ 60 fps and it averages about 100mb per minute

So with a little over 1000mb in a gb, that should be about 10 minutes for each gb.  Right?  ???

I have used at least 4 different cards in mine and have had good luck.....the most important thing is get one that is at least a class 6 speed or higher and that it is SDHC.
I am currently using a class 10 32GB card and it works great! I got it on newegg for $40 shipped free. (over 7hrs. of HD 720 video)

I have used a class 4 speed card and have had some issues with it (audio problems and glitchy video problems in the higher 720 and 1080 modes)

Here is a link to 8 different choices.....http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007796%20600006200%20600006235%20600082443&IsNodeId=1&name=Class%2010 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007796%20600006200%20600006235%20600082443&IsNodeId=1&name=Class%2010)

We normally go to Truckhaven, but have some friends that go to Razor Rd regularly.

We were talking about trying Glamis (to see the Wog/Slapper group) but nothing has paddles so, that probably won't happen.

If you or Wog can get it to my place I can store it for a short time (before I start a lien seal on it)  ;)
