What brand and models of GPS do you guys use, for boating/racing purposes? The GPS world is huge and I don't have a clue...  ???

We use a Garmin Etrex Venture hand-held with a dash mount.  Both can be purchased at your local Bass Pro Shops.  GPS sells for about $100-$130 and dash mount sells for about $20.

i USE  the Garmin Etrex Legend ....I think...Anyway it's blue and water resistant. It has ended up in the bilge a couple of times!!! It still works too!

This is mine . Almost 2 bills out the door from REI . It's does so much crap . I've only gotten as far as tracking speed and playing games .

Does that mount screw into the boat. I teather mine to my life jacket.

Yes . There is also a knob that unscrews so the reast of the mount comes off and the only thing left is a round base. Probably not something you would want to do in your boat .
