Title: gun & ammo
Post by: 429heads on May 20, 2009, 03:17:40 PM

Whether you hunt or not - this has more to do with this country
than hunting.........haven't checked this out yet but maybe this is why
ammo is getting harder to find.....

Ammo-less Firearms Alert

You might want to send this to all your hunting buddies family &
friends.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 It has already
started....
Ammunition Accountability Legislation
Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns?
Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem
with taking your ammo!
The bill 20 that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and
Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a
data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy
and what calibers.
Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition
is coded.
Any privately held un coded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1,
2011.  (Including hand loaded ammo.)
They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo
you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!
If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

Alabama, Arizona ,  California ,  Connecticut , Hawaii , Illinois ,
Indiana, Kentucky , Maryland ,  Mississippi , Missouri ,

here is a blog that debugs this hoax with facts

http://shakespearessister.blogspot.com/2009/01/ammunition-accountability-act-e-mail.html

Quote
Conclusion: The Ammunition Accountability Act (AAA) was introduced in 18 state legislatures in 2007 and 2008. It didn't pass in any form nor even make it to a vote. California's "Crime Gun Identification Act of 2007" does not involve ammunition and is not part of the AAA. While the e-mail points out that the bills are "pending," that is false. No AAA bills are currently pending from the list the AAA Web site provided (http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm).

The AAA made little to no headway in 2007 or 2008, and there is no reason to believe it would in 2009, if it were to be reintroduced, which as of yet it hasn't. The AAA e-mail has gained traction due to fears by gun owners that it was something new, and that Obama has a part in it somehow, which he doesn't. While concerned gun owners could keep an eye out for future AAA bills, at this point, the issue is a non-issue. The e-mail is a politically motivated hoax.

thanks for that clarification Brad, i was almost out the door to the gun store to get every last piece of ammo i could get for my 1911 and .40 s&w and my .22LR revolver. if it was going to effect shotguns i would have to get all sorts of ammo. Thank God that the new president( the one i didnt vote for) has at least done one thing smart.

Hoax or not, libs do like things like gun control. So its believe able as something they'd try! Living temporary in Canada they have strict laws on gun ownership. Nixed the Kelowna as a place too live cause not enough adult entertainment. Moved into this small town 45 minutes outside of Vancouver (Olympics this winter should be a blast), etcetera. Abbotsford pop. 150,000 or so, has shootings almost daily. Huge gang problem and murder rate per 100,000 that makes this area as dangerous or more so than any part of LA and surrounding area's (my next hometown). The papers blame being next door to the U.S makes it easier for criminals to arm themselves. Main point its the criminals not honest citizen gun owner that causes problems. Its the criminal that makes this place called Canada about as equal or even more dangerous then pretty much any U.S city. Don't see their stupid gun control working in making criminals not have guns. In fact the popular robbery technique in this area according to the local paper is armed home invasion! I submit that; while reading about my new temporary homes 4 separate shooting homicides this past week (all gang related and all criminals). Well the article said the lower mainland (surrounding areas of Vancouver) have the highest rate of property crime in North America. Also a high number of muggings, assault, etcetera. Armed robbery is also through the roof. I submit, the solution is not gun control. The real solution is adopting an American gun culture. Not putting 2 police cars in every area that has an open late coffee shop, restaurant and bar parking lot all night. Hoax or not, it keeps the issue in debate. One an armed population of people makes it harder for the government to violate people rights. Second government can't be available to protect your basic rights 24/7, it will nor should never be big enough to do that! So an armed population also secures their basic individual rights from being infringed by other people. Along with freedom of speech (the other Constitutional right libs want watered down the whole attack on limiting conservative talk radio) Guns and the right to own them are the most important! If the U.S ever tries abolishing either or any Constitutional right! I'll be the first in line with my guns to storm Washington!
