I purchased a weiand tunnel ram intake off of ebay a few weeks ago. I received the item in a timely fashion, it was packaged well but that is where the good stuff ends. The intake has stripped bolt holes, not a huge deal but it clearly said " all bolt holes in good shape". I can heli coil them and they will be better than before i think. Thermostat housing bolt holes corroded out into the water passage on the front of the intake. Deep pits in the cooling passage up front. A 1/2" steel pipe nipple is corroded/rusted into the intake, the bypass tube was almost rusted in two. His answer to all of this is " its used". So i went through alot of trouble to fix everything up, re tap holes, heli coil etc. It also has been grinded on in the front which was also not mentioned. So after all of this i try to contact the seller multiple times, figured he was honest as he has 200 positive feedback selling and buying. I get the run around and everything else, he said i fucked it up etc. Got nowhere and he does not want to do anything to make it better. What should i do about this? Im pretty pissed off about this and do not really want to run this intake on my fresh engine. And i gave plenty of opportunity for him to make it right and i was as polite as possible.

Ebay is VERY big on this sort of stuff. Keep the listing number in your "Bought items"  and follow through the 14 pages or so Ebay will make you go through to file a formal complaint. Then Ebay will take over. If they do a lot of business on Ebay, they will take care of you to avoid what Ebay can and WILL do (Seen it done first hand on a handloader I bought a few years ago). Else it's going to be small claims court in the jurisdiction where you bought it from.

If it was messed up, why'd you try and fix it and not start all this then? You MIGHT have done yourself in a lil there, G.

I said it before, I'll say it again, 70% of what you find on Ebay or Craigs list is either a scam or a rip-off. There are deals to be had from honest people, but be smart about it! (I've been ripped a time or two, but normally make out OK, eh Jeremy?).

Go here if you have not all ready http://resolutioncenter.ebay.com/  and check the  received an item that does not match the seller's description.  Did you take any pictures of the  tunnel ram before you started repairing it. When  I buy an item  I take a picture right when  I pull it out of the box Or  I take a small video. With pictures and video  that stops the seller  from  saying  you did  the damage. Like   what  Ray  said  there are some good sellers and theres  some  very nasty  ones. I been burnt   before and  it sucks. Hope the info helps
