Not that I am a big advocate for boating on Havasu but....I was talking to my parents today(they live there) and word has been spreading around town that the cops have finally realized that they have been a little too tough on boaters just trying to have fun. The town does not get as crowded as it use to and bridge water channel doesnt draw the crowds it use to. Maybe they will ease up a bit if the girls want to give a little tittie shot they wont go to jail. Has anybody else heard anything about this?
-
personally, i think they have been doing a good job and need to continue putting pressure on the trouble makers...they just need better judgement of whos havin a harmless good time and whos putting themselves and/or others in harms way.
-
The hole titty thing resulted in a few new laws being passed to prevent it . As much as I dont like it , it probably made the place better . There is nothing more annoying than having to listen to some jagoff who is completly horse from days on end of drinking shout "SHOW ME YOUR TITTIES HA HA HA HA !" All that shouting and drinking is really rough on my vacal cords .

I'm sure they will still go after the REAL trouble makers(OMAR"s) J/K but maybe give a little more slack on people just trying to have a good time.
-
I really hope they dont let up . It sends the message that being fukin retarded is a crime , and we will take yo ass to jail . >:D

Canadian law says a woman has the right to go topless if she wants to.... I Love Canada ;D
So bring all your women up here to go boating and feel free to show your tits ladies !
This is such a great country 8)
too bad women in the US can't even breast feed in public without being charged :-\
I feel sorry for women and the repressed societies that shame them ???
Oh and as far as the problems of stupidity on Havasu... if the cops save one life, it's worth what they do to me ;)
I'm too old to party like the young people do anyways... I'll leave that up to Omar, lol ;)

Looks like I'm gonna need a designated driver this summer , and a fist full of banana hammocks . 8)

Actually topless is legal unless specifically outlawed by the local laws. What isn't legal is being lewd and suggestive, acting in a sexually provacative nature. Most people don't want to go to court to defend their rights in this regard. However it wouldn't surprise me to find that LHC is one place that has written laws prohibiting nudity. People do kinda push the limits down there.

Doing that in Canada would make for some rock-hard nips :P .
So they CAN, but how many do.

? ??? ? ; They can, and do (usually tastefully); where do you get your info?

Are you saying the US is a "repressed society"? I don't think "Girls Gone Wild" is filmed in Canada >:D

I am today what used to irritate me when I was young; say what you want but now that I'm raising 3 children I have no problem putting the cabbosh on out of control behavior; I just don't want my children to be exposed to it and we should have the ability to go boating without my children being exposed to that.
I ran around Parker a lot in the 80's and enjoyed the atmosphere; but times have changed and in addition to some simple fun crazy behavior, many youth now show NO RESPECT to anyone else; that's why the behavior then turns into a problem.
-
I too get a little weary of the lake crazies and drunks but I cant lie I still like a little "slow loping" cruise thru the 5 zone at the Naciemento Narrows (our version of "copper canyon") to check the Thong & titty action etc . On the other hand you couldn't pay me to camp there in the campgrounds . The law enforcements neccesary Just wish they'd pick off the drunks and "wrong ways" and leave my headers alone ! Tom

In all honesty, I'm not grasping this. You do have the ability to go boating without all the hassles. But Havasu isn't the place to do it. People go there to get wild, party, have a good time etc. I don't think anyone is forcing you to go out there, but you can't expect the place to change just because you now have kids. Its the same thing with vegas. Why in the hell would you take your family to vegas? It's an adult playground. I hear it everytime I go up there and am out drinking until 9 in the morning and stumbling back to my room. " Oh look at him, I don't want my kids to see this kind of behavior and think its alright ". Then why are they here? I'm not trying start a holy war just sharing an opinion. Oh and I guarantee that when you were running around in your party days, more than one person said the exact thing your saying. I mean, theres gotta be some places where grown adults can cut loose and get a little crazy. ----> Steps down off soap box <----

I think Havasu will mellow out with the economy taking a dive and all these GET RICH QUICK mortgage people arent making what they used to, anyone else notice the # of newer $100,000+ boats up for sale in the trader, also the truck trader is getting more full of monster trucks too, CAN WE HAVE OUR WATER BACK?

Never enough, but then again, I'm too old for them to flash anyways, lol ;D

Never been to Havasu and never had any interest in going; except for in-law planned trips to Powell, never been north of Parker; I have no concern what they do at Havasu.

Wrong; there's more to Vegas than the strip; good friend been living there 20 years; take the family all the time; plenty to do.

Wrong, Las Vegas isn't now, nor has it ever been a place for kids. Go to Disney World is you want to bring little Suzie & Johnny, I'm in Vegas for drunken debauchery >:D >:D >:D and I don't need Katie the soccer mom looking down her nose at me.

IMO well said. ;) I've got kids also. If you take your kids to a stripper bar you better know what a stripper bar is. Same for any boating location. Do your research. I would take my kids to Parker but I know where in Parker not to take them - the sandbar that has 40 boats parked in it, usually has several pontoon boats in the middle with stripper poles on them, and hundreds of people. You can boat all day long at Parker and still have your kids in an enviroment that isn't going to be detrimental to their mental health growth. Same for Vegas, there are places to take the family and there are places that should remain adult playgrounds. As far as your kids seeing a drunk stumbling down the street, it's part of life, you shouldn't hide that from your kids as it is a perfect example of how not to act. IMO
-
I remeber this one time I was waiting for a table at BJ's (a brewery) and this guy comes storming up to the hostest and starts chewing her out because they sat his family with small kids at a table that was in view of the bar. He said he was outraged they sat his kids there.
This guy is pissed cuz he took his family to a brewery and his kids saw people drinking beer!? >:(
-
Some people just dont get it! ???
-
Wrong, Las Vegas isn't now, nor has it ever been a place for kids.
Change 'Las Vegas' to 'the strip', then OK; otherwise, you're wrong; last time we were in Vegas my kids got to ride horses, watch some fellas ride some bulls (no rodeo, just a private place); again, plenty to do in Vegas off of the strip.
-
Besides the weather (compared to San Diego) Vegas is an awesome place for any and all.
-
Hmmm, I will conceed that. Just trying to make the point that there are some places that kids shouldn't be. That was more of what I was trying to point out than saying all of vegas is strictly for people over 21. I just don't want to here about it everytime I go up there and some lady is sitting there playing the slots while a baby sits in the stroller. (True story) And I'm the bad guy having a good time drinking and playing cards. Not saying don't bring your kids there or anywhere for that matter. Just be aware of the surroundings and what is going on. I'm sure as hell not taking my son out on the strip or anyplace where there is alot of drunkin misbehaving going on.
-
:) I think we've all now reached a concensus ;D

I sit here and read everything that you peeps are saying about Havasu and I finnaly had to chime in...I grew up in the Frisco Bay Area....a small town in the east bay...well at least back then it was...and the cops sucked...if you rode your Harley thru town you knew you are getting pulled over. And it wasn't just Pleasanton...Fremont cops suck....Livermore really sucks...Concord, I could go on....you get the idea...I moved here and ride and no problems...I boat and no problems...I party and no problems....I am old enough to know that you reap what you sow....if you act like an ass you get treated like one...the people here in Havasu are and have been friendly and honest....the people that own the shops around here are honest and tell it like it is...(you have to love that even though I made a mistake about a good company and am still feeling bad about it, ie:http://finneys.com/specialize.htm). The few that come in on weekends and run around like a bunch of yo-yo's doing things that they would bitch about if it was in their back yard, are the ones that give Havasu a bad name...if you look hard enough you can find anything about anywhere that isn't in "the norm". enough from me..... :)

I lived in Havasu in the late eighties , i always seemed to find the trouble and ended up in the jail which reminded me of Mayberry back then. And to this day i still do not like Havasu....Bad memories...........Bitches >:D
Hava Al is right i did it to myself just like the rest of the A-holes are still doing it. so keep to yourself have a good time and forget about it cause no matter where you go , theres always gonna be a A-hole around.

Me; no, I'm not a cop; always have and always will support them tho; bumped into a few in my time on a professional level; funny thing is, I caused the issue; never once have I been bothered when I wasn't doing anything; sure, I bumped into a few at a casual level and some may be pinheads, but that is a very small minority.
Matter of fact, I now have a couple folks I consider friends who are high-ranking (captain and above); they're just folks doing a job; some do it better than others - just like anywhere else.
Carefull what you say folks; some of SCJB members may be in that profession.

Sure some cops suck and are assholes, but for the most part if youre cool with them they will only F@#K with you a little bit
MOST OF THE TIME, and there are always exceptions, like the cop that got his ass beat constantly as a kid and takes it out on anyone that he feels like, or the cop that just loves to shove out his chest and wants the world to know that hes a cop!
-
i have alot of friends that are cops and my cousins boyfriend patrols my neighborhood, kinda nice, all his friends stop by when we have a party, sit out front drink a gatorade and leave, they are the nice ones, then you have your a-holes, go for a ride on the harleys and if they don't pull you over, they follow you for several miles and try to find a reaso, i got pulled over three weeks ago, he said i was going 50 in a 35, funny the guy that passed me didn't get pulled over ???
-
Yes HDrider most cops are a-holes, but that is the mentality that is best suited for the job. They deal with the society's scum everyday so that you don't have to. And everyone acts different when they approach, its just natural to go on the defensive when those red lights get turned on behind you. That said they are doing a job that most people wouldn't do for twice the money and don't often even get a "thank you" for doing it. I had 30 tickets before I was 30 yrs old (3 before I was 16) and almost all of them were deserved. I won a few and lost a few in court and I even busted a cop in court for lying, but I recognize that it is a game and I get away with way more stuff than I get caught for. And maybe the salesman didn't tell you but you really should have known -- driving a red corvette is the best way in the world to attract attention whether from the cops or the chicks. If you don't want caught breaking the laws try driving a Civic/Camry/Kia in white with stock everything. Or take a vacation in Sweden and come back a beautiful busty blonde and smile a lot. >:D
