going to try a different loader just for the hell of it. going from what i think they call a super sport loader to a river loader. i trimmed the SS loader to an 1/8'' above keel. do i do the same with the river loader? as it is it hangs down 1 1/8'' below keel but if if cut it back i will have to cut off about a 3rd of the entire ramp. this is not leaving much ramp left to load impeller. only about 6''. any help on this would be great.

The vertical fin depth below the keel is virtually irrelevant. (jumping an a major assumption here.).
The important thing is that the horizontal "wings" are not too deep below the keel.
If it is with 1/4" to the keel I would run it and see what it does, just be cautious on a herd shut down and expect the unexpected. P Be sure to use the appropriate hardware (most important).
