Post by: mobboss on May 22, 2012, 09:57:32 AM
this may sound stupid , so bare with me. whats the diff between auto headers and boat headers? and can one just add a water line (near the collector) to make a auto header into a boat header???

Auto headers don't have the the right angle of the dangle. They will work however will sit right on your transom (not on it but close enough for me) and could eventually burn the gel coat from what I've heard

You can get boat headers cheap enough if you look in great shape its honestly not worth the hastle unless your going to do upsweeps like stated above..

Not really that long, bbc Bassetts are ~40", no bells, the sbc ss headers are ~42" & 3.5" collectors.

I just don't understood the water injection in Basset headers? Is it to protect the. Chrome from extreme heat? I personally do not like my Basset headers. So im researching dry headers and in your opinion what would you run performance wise? How about headers on a mrkv BBC 7.4?
