Heard the freeze warnings, drained boat blocks, but REALLY? Diesel truck will NOT start (Special thanks to Arizona Governor Skank/Bitch for the Bio-Diesel!!!), need to go help G/F move and even too cold for the battery charger to work on the batteries! My thermometer says 42, called my bud at the airport here a few minutes ago who said, "Dude, it's 36"

REALLY!?!? at noon in Casa Grande, Arizona? Why oh WHY did I remove that block heater from this thing?

27 this morning on my way to work...wind chill was down in the teens! I would like to thank carhart for their superb jacket! I hate the cold...it is now just above 40 degrees!

LOL That isn't the problem. Fuel issue. I'm guessing gelled in the water separator. Set Veggie oil outside in 20-30 degree weather and see what happens. Now picture a short blonde trashy looking thing who has slept her way to the Governors office in Phoenix and allowed the fuel companies to mix that shit as high as 20% in every gallon of diesel fuel....................

Truck STILL won't start. Looks like I'm the next one looking at a $4k repair bill once the tow truck gets here.......

Gord i stand corrected it was 21 in my zip code yesterday and 25 this morning...back to 70 this weekend though...i do work outside though! Does that get me any sympathy?

ray...try running a chemical called "heet"..put it in the fuel tank...it will break up the gel and shouds start after a while.......and try runing diesel additive every tank full......it will help!

bio diesel is not the problem......whens the last time you changed the fuel filter?

Do not run heet...sorry chromey its a bad idea! I would by the dps in a white bottle for winter blend...dps in the gray bottle for summer...although i run the gray bottle year round...even this morning my truck fired right up...i agree with chromey...your ff is probably ready...they should be changed every 10k

Bio-diesel is a problem for some injection pumps. I was talking with one of the guys from Diesel Injection Service in San Bernardino about pumps for the older 6.5L GM trucks and was told that he was seeing brand new pumps starting to rust the internals in as little as 30-45 days after replacement using Bio-Diesel.

Now, back to Rays problem...

Replacing the fuel filter should always be the first thing you do whenever you have any starting or performance issues with a diesel. Also pour the fuel out of the filter into a jar so you can see if it looks contaminated (water or fungus).

We have had a couple trucks come in with nasty black fuel. Sometimes its necessary to drain, remove and clean the tanks, along with replacing the filters.

Filters were done about 6 months ago, my suspicions lie in the water separator or the injection pump. Had the dealer tow it in today so we'll see what they can find. Been doing situps so i'm in shape when I get bent over,

Exactly where my heads at with it. Did take a long crank to get it going last week or so. Why I suspect the pump. been reading horror stories on these 6.0's when things go wrong though

On the flip side of this thread, I got a cool pic on my phone I'll hafta D/L of my G/F's frozen water fountain this morning, lol.

i guess that does rate sympathy when your not used to it but thats about when we put on a coat and if it gets a little colder we look for a pair of gloves
