Don't let em talk you into the special "brew gas mix" straight co2 works best. I think the mix had 20% nitrogen in it or some shit like that. Carbonates in a day or 2 instead of weeks. :o

Cool I'll call you , like anything else its spooky the first time (WTF to do with the keg and CO2 ) but the bottling is a major pain even with the Grolsh bottles , I got about 5 cases from the past year all still good , this Batch is xmas Brew cant wait (hardest part) Folks that havent experienced this it simple and fun you canmake some serious good beer and its cheap to get started Tom

Lay the keg on it's side ,and roll it back and forth with my foot as you put the c02 to it, crank it up to 25 psi or so and let it sit for a day or so.

(ever try shaking a keg?) WTF I want to sample my brew !@!

I have shaken just a little not much tho. what psi are ya running through the regulator ???

Post by: jet boat performance on December 27, 2008, 07:24:52 PM: Mark this batch went almost 2 weeks , no floatys (yeasty's) the wort taste OK (smells like a Frat house on the morning after) , I cleaned everthing with Star San Phosforic acid (this stuff is the sh*T works good on Boat headers too) Charged the keg and have shaken the Sh*t out of it (per the instruction) its absorbing the CO2 Now I'm impatiently waiting for a fizzy "taster" :banghead:

Its simple actually and fun , a complete "departure" from all the other things I do (kind of time consuming but good stuff ! Go for it Its cheap and easy to get started , Heck get a"Mister beer kit" and see how you do ...

The shaking, wellll like I said before paitence buddy ;D 1980 it is alot easier than ya think to do your own homebrew ;D

When you get into it you will see that you spend less to make it, and be able to make the flavors of brands that you like, and more of it. The taste is excellent. The Hefs or wheat brews are a great one to make and easy, one of my favorites ;D Another fav of mine is the mead ale, its made with about 15 lbs. of honey, and has a real refreshing light taste, BUT, it will get ya hammered real quick!!!! :sly:

If they got you a Mister beer , its a good place to start , very easy and It will tell you if you have the patience , like was said cleaning is critical (you should have a packet in the kit) As much as all of us seem to like a cocktail here this is a good thread lets keep it going !
