I hurt my back (on the job) in 02 and since then I've been having occasional flare ups with it. Today is one of those days. Sunday I knocked it out of alignment hooking the boat up to my truck. Just lifted it wrong. Thats what happens when you're in a hurry. Anyway I've been working through it, wearing back support and takin Ibuprofen. This morning, I realized I wasn't going to make it when I couldn't wash my feet. So I called in and went back to bed. Woke up later to take a leak and couldn't get out of bed. Had to have my gf help me roll over while I was cryin like girl in pain. Took one of my muscle relaxers and now I'm in zombie mode. Slept till 11:30. I'll be hittin the vicodin too after I pick up my prescrip. Gotta have someone drive me to the chiro this afternoon and get my back tuned up. I'm just worried that by the time I retire from the state in 8 years I won't be able to enjoy it. I guess I can qualify for medical marijauna then. I got that to look forward to ;D I used to take Vioxx and mad did that stuff work!!! But too many people abused and died so they had to pull it off the market. Supposedly they are working on a replacement, but that'll be years from now. Another side effect of the muscle relaxers they make me babble on as I've done here ::) :-\

I screwed my back up twelve years ago , and to this day sometimes it just decides to punish me just like what you described. It tends to happen about twice a year , and usually lasts about a week at a time.
It origanally happend on the job. The doctor said I have a partially herniated disk but it was not bad enough to operate so I just have to deal with it till I screw it up worse.

same thing, got two herniated discs l4-l5 & l5-s1 discs (the two lowest discs) not bad enough for surgery so just have to suck it and deal with it.

I know how you guys feel......
One night after school my buddy was taking us home, we spent the day working on his farm loading hay trucks :screwy: Anyways we were sitting on the highway waiting to turn into Big River on a friday night! (Before they installed the left turn lane) and BAM!!!!!!!! we got hit, we were in a 3/4 ton utility van and it rolled three times. I was sitting in the back on the floor with a spare tire and a full case of oil, back then it was cans not these nice forgiving plastic bottles and a half of a full roll around tool box.
Yes it was full of tools and i opened every damn can of oil with my head and my ass!!! Yes i was well LUBED!
Before i knew it i was being pulled out of the van by some off duty fireman. They were coming in from Cali heading to Parker for the weekend..... (thanks again guy's) I was sixteen and scared shitless :o
The van was a total loss, i really felt bad for the couple that hit us, it was an old dodge and it relocated the engine to the front seat.... They were in BAD shape but survived.... They estimated them traveling at 90mph trying to get home to Needles.......
So yes i know what its like to get rammed in the ass at 90mph, it aint nothing nice..
And to this day i hurt everyday, so i take it one day at a time ;)

Captain Morgan's is alright, but Sailor Jerry Rum is the shiznit!!! Better flavor and it's stronger than regular rum. 92 proof!!!

Just got back from chiro. I'm still jacked up but a little better than before. Gonna take some more pain meds and ice up my back.

Bad news, ended up in ER Friday night with spasms running down my left leg and numbness. They gave me a toridal shot and a bunch of percocets. I've been pounding percocets, zanaflex (muscle relaxers), lodine (anti inflamatory), and prednisone (steriods). Still having problems so getting a referal to a ortho specialist on monday (hopefully they can get me in) and get a mri. Hopefully I can just get a cortizone shot be good for a while. I'm scared it might be surgery time. That'll suck because I don't have any leave built up at work right now!. I'm also really hoping to get fixed up in time for the Parker trip. We'll see what happens.
