judging from the scratches and metal shavings in that area, someone couldnt figure out how to get the valve cover off so they started prying at it...

This is the firewal and outside/lower corner ..where oil would.be prone to pool or slosh against.

Called and til him there's a snail trail of 30w wherever I go... He suggests I pay cash under the table for him to pull trans and replace rear main..  then this is found.

I've seen spark plug wires go under one side of the Cover and out the other. Looks like it got held up on something and tightened down? At least its a family member so you can beat his ass.

He's not a family member anymore. He was goin for blood on that and he's too good a Chevy line tech to make a mistake like that.

Truck has 230k miles on it. Runs bitchin. There's only been a couple times its needed work and its gone to him around the backside of the dealer and paid cash every time..

In the economic weather over the last few years, we have all lost money. I get that, but you can't supplement your income by screwing family, friends or strangers.

Family will be the first in line to take advantage... We have a little motto around here...When it's family, it's free, you just have to be careful to keep the favors even.  ;)

Right now I don't have to do squat for anybody, I'm next in line... :sly:

Doesn't suck at all anymore, is rather know what kind of folk surround me.

That truck went up on his lift and he ran a long ass socket extension between motor and firewall, caught the edge of the valve cover and beat it upward to simulate an oil leak from the rear of the motor.
