Sorry to see the troubles w the truck sav; what a bummer.
We had a good day here; the 3 kids mostly used the new ramps w bikes, skates, boards, Heeleys; I mostly worked on my son's old JR50 that seized up on him the other day (running again).

grinch came by my house, it started on the 21st wifey heard water running but i thought i left water in backyard, on the 22nd again she heard it i decided to come home and see, guess what the hot water main under my slab lets go the fnnnn center of the house, water destroys the new wood floors i put in in august, the new carpets, drywall and new 5in baseboards all gone, have to take showers quick and then shut off the hot water to house, 26th the slab gets cut open and they miss it by 4ft now it needs another cut, this time the cut needs to be under the fnnn bath and vanity, the concrete dust is everywhere i had it, and wifey has really had it.... :( :( :( i hope nobody ever has to do this and why dont they just run all plumbing up stairs, i will start relocating all water pipes upstairs as i remodel each room and kitchen, this really sucks :( :( :( :( :( :(

I had that happen in my new house except it was the shower drain. We would take a shower and the Master bedroom was sopping wet. It was running right under out bed and up a wall. My house is brand new and I had to move out for 2 weeks. The smell was grose from the glue on the carpet and mildew water. We did not notice until the weather cooled down and we started taking longer showers..

H2O -- you haven't lived until you have done this 4 or 5 times.  We have unprotected copper pipe under the foundation. The soil is so acidic that it was eating holes in the pipes. Even after the 4th time the homeowners insurance would not pay for anything more than cleanup. Next door neighbor and I both have Allstate and they told him the same thing after each claim he had. We pulled up carpet, he had to re-do ceramic tile each time. It turns out everyone in the neighborhood has had this prob to one extent or another.  We were tripping cuz the floor would be warm in the middle of winter, turns out it was the hot water warming the foundation in the kids room.
The upside is when you do the repipe you can get seriously macho water pressure and volume all over the property!!!  I still don't like the idea of having pipes ruining everything from the top down as opposed to just the floor but my plumber buddy assures me that that won't happen.  :o
OK OK so that this isn't a total thread jack my wife got a lot of sexy new clothes, the kids got an XR50 but they are both afraid of crashing and getting hurt, and I got a new buffer for the boat and some serious credit card bills to look forward to. And a terrible mess to clean up.  And lights to take down.  And a truck to work on.  Now where did I leave that Patron . . .
