I burned out my dist cap today and was trying to flag someone down for help today. Finally a fellow jetter decided to come back and see what I wanted. He came in way to fast and struck me broadside. His bow eye cut my rub rail all up and crushed inmy hull (just above the rub rail) about 4"x3"
He did not even appologize but did go and inform the ranger that I needed a tow. The ranger flew by not seeing my flag or hearing my air horn bursts...
I eventually was able to rig up the rotor to make enough contact with the cap to allow about 3200 RPMs and got back to the ramp, but now I need to find where to buy new rub rail, and see if I can figure out how to patch my hole :banghead: :'(
I'll post pics tomorrow of the damage

it wasnt marcsrollin and his battle ax tahiti was it (joke) had a hole in my hornet and it was pretty easy to fix. check out the thread. i think propless fixed his too.

Dude, that's just shitty all the way around, sorry to hear that, the dude could have at least towed you in, but what do I know?
-
Chaz, If I remember right you did your floor a while back , right ? Same thing just more glass and no wood, just do both sides of the hull (outside and inside) or it will crack. Mine still looks solid (no cracks) and Ralphs has taken more abuse than most boats ever see and is still holding up. ;D
Heres Ralphs (full of red Xs >:( ) http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=1277.0
And heres mine . http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=1284.0
btw , I hope you remember what that other boat looked like, payback is a bitch, and as easy as a couple notches on the diverter. >:D

:o :banghead: :o

You should have reported his ass ! FUUUUUUUUK THAT !
-beerjet-
-
damn :o he would have been paying for that one way or another
-
holy shiiit, that sucks, sounds like someone should have been sitting at the bottom of the lake after not even apologizing for it. very sorry to see that on your boat, but you will fix it and it will look great
-
I thought about reporting it. I asked the ranger what the procedure was, and he told me if there was more than $500 damage I HAD to fill out a boating accident report and I could take him to small claims court if he refused to pay. However, since he was trying to help and did try and get someone to tow me, I decided to just fix it myself.

Fuc it, looks shitty but you can fix it inna day......right Ralph? I wiped out my new paint inna day at Parker.
-
The sad part is as I'm still unemployed my fund reserves are depleted. I have the stuff to repair the glass, but no tools or access to fix the paint. I guess I could try and find a close rattle can color until I can afford to fix it right.
-
Have brad make you a big socal sticker to put over it!!!
That sux that it happend in the first place , what color and kind of boat was it that hit you?
-
Not sure on make of boat, but it was black with purple trim on boat and engine if I remember correctly. Should have a few scratches around the bow eye :sly:
-
do you know the color code and make of your paint ? i get some brands of paint cheap!
-
I have no idea other than the dupli-color engine enamel DE1653 Red dries too dark... I sprayed this on my pump for a temp cover up but it doesnt really match too well. I could mail a peice of the paint if that would help, but I will need rattle can paint for now as I dont own a large enough compressor or gun to paint it correctly. :'(
Now that the State budget has passed :o I am hoping to get hired somewhere so I may get to find a new home soon also.

Thanks, for the encouragement.
On a brighter note I got this in the mail today
(https://www.socaljetboats.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg222.imageshack.us%2Fimg222%2F7746%2Foilcooler001sx2.jpg&hash=64dffd22ec6e2eb059845e7dfc130f685c219c04)
Might have spent the $$ on the repair if I was able to see into the future ;) Now I just need the hardware and lines to install it :o
-
did you get that from tom?
-
No, I got it used from a guy on PB. I did, however, send Tom a note asking for a quote on the the rest of the parts I will need to install it.
-
this is what i did today :-[
