Is this a triton 5.4 3 valve? If so heres a link of basic info... the coils are under the fuel injection rail and the coils can be removed without removing the fuel rail. Turn the injector a little if you cant access the bolt to the coil. Watchout these plugs love to break and its not fun removing the bottom portion of the plug.

Now i feel like a dick. Lol thanks on that but I know to muck about the 5.4 due to my old mans lack of maintenance. This is my 7.3 diesel. It dropped a cylinder about 9 months ago and im finally getting around to pullin the motor.
Well next step is drop the trans and pull the motor this weekend. Im done for the night, no beer left, propane heater is empty and my knees are numb.

Dropped cylinder? How many miles? My PSD has 490K on the clock, and runs like a swiss watch. Not as fast as a 6.0, but it run longer than one. I'll keep mine till 750K.

212 and change. Motors dusted. Impeller on the turbo doesn't have a sharp edge any where and all the cylinders are running low around the 330psi. Ontop of that im pretty sure my # 5 injector was shot and dumping more fuel than it should and bent a rod which would explain the 100 psi I get when cranking but I can hook up my co2 tank and pressurize it to 386 before I start to hear hissing out of the block. Wont know till I get it pulled and torn down.

I wish, but if I swapped id go to a 24v. But I don't feel like dealing with smog. So im just gonna pick up a wrecked 7.3 truck pull the motor and part out/ scrap what's left.

330 isn't too bad, like to see them 340+ would be nice to know where its going, rings or valves. A leakdown test is in order. I'd be suprised if you could bend a rod in that motor, without a garden hose fed to it. More fuel should run hotter, maybe damaged the #5 ring/ringland or burnt an exhaust valve. Mine has the typical #8 cackle, still. I wouldnt condemn that motor, yet. I'm on my 2nd turbo, first one went to 325K. My brothers '99 PSD has 360K (with 35's on it, speedo 9% slow, ~392K), orig turbo, w/p, hpop, and injectors and been stolen twice. (love the I/E )

I was told that 330 is low, that I should be looking for 370-420 and that no cylinder should be more than 20 psi apart?

I'd imagine the truck has had a K&N on it for a long time. Turbo diesels need paper filters, a lot of fine dust gets by K&N type elements. Also that factory airbox on 1st gen psd is a pos, I don't know how the super duty are ... I immediately did the build your own tymar with the Napa 6637 filter.
Mine had dull blades on my turbo when I bought it and a dusty snail trail in the intake boot after the crank case vent. I replaced turbo but it didn't need it.
Bought my 96 in 06 with 110k mi sold at beginning of 2012 with 140k
Never should have sold it.
