I know we boater's dont like em,but I said what the hell....My Bro called me and asked if I wanted a "jetski"? For FREE! He said it was his son-in-law's(original owner) and he didnt want it anymore....near perfect shape, all it needed was a throttle lever(broke)but run's perfect. :o So anyway I went and got it last week and brought it home....he had taken all the factory sticker's(logo's) off of it.So I wasnt really sure what it was. Found out it was actually a Yamaha,I thought it was gonna be one of those Lil' 550 jet ski's,but when I went to the local Yamaha dealer to order the throttle I brought the Vin# with me..the guy ran it to order the part and he told me that it wasnt just a "550 Jetski"..it is actually what they call a 1996 Yamaha "Superjet 701"....I guess it's a 700cc with twin carbs...supposed to be pretty fast? ??? Anybody know anything about 'em??? I saw a couple on e-bay and their askin 'tween $1800 and $2200... >:D Might just clean it up,sell it,my boat and by a BIGGER BOAT! ;D Anyway...just wonderin......

$2000 can buy a few good bolt on's, (not those >:D ) but maybe a new carb and manifold, new ignition, new headers?

Ya my brother and I happen to own a 96 and 97 superjets. They haul ASS!!!!! I had my carbs tuned, different impeller and a ride plate. Was once clocked doin 48 mph standin up, man thats hairy. Not all of us are fools out there, my brother and I have been ridin them since Kawasaki first came out with them in the 80's and are very respectful of everyone out there, and Im sure he and I are in the MINORITY ;D Mark

You're very lucky, damn wish I could find a deal like that :banghead:
-
Cool deal man. Those ole superjets are badass. I have an old 550 and they are a lot of fun to ride on. If its in good condition you could probably fetch 1800, but I don't know how the stand up market is.

Thanx for the input guy's...I did a little research on this thing...first of all..you pull the cover off of the top,the motor looks brand new...I did a little inspection on the squirt and that looks even better, the impellar is also like new!! ;D Now the only problem I'm havin' is my bro's son in law had it registered in Az. and he has lost the title, cuz he has had it sitting in garage for so long. Now I have to wait for him to file for a lost title and then wait for the Az dmv to respond, then he has to finally get the title and sign it over to me! :banghead: :banghead:  :sly:! I wanna ride this damn thing and see how fast it actually is....but oh well...I guess I gotta wait! :-\ >:( Tracy

Sorry for the jack, but I just have to say... Tony, the rims on those two cars are smokin!

My girlfriend won the 2000 World Jetski Finals on a superjet... I have TONS of bolt on parts and carbon fiber hoods, impellers carbs...So much shit that I have stored for too long!
