So after scrolling through Craig's list looking for well anything (bad habit) i find an 85 k5 blazer and it looks clean. Body's straight guys says it runs great and he has to many vehicles and wants it gone. I had a 84 k5 that i handed off to my brother so i know how these trucks drive, there off road capabilities and lets be honest its better than a jeep and I love them, one of the best things chevy put out hands down. So of course I hit him up and ask if he's interested in a trade for a boat. We exchange some pictures and talk a bit on the phone and were both pretty interested in the swap. And considering where I am with the kona and the shape this blazer is in, after I pull a Corey on it i could easily make a profit on it or keep it and have a nice clean full size 4x4. So what says you guys go for it or what.

ive loved all three ive owned even thoght about buying boostys on the boards cant go wrong looks killer in the pics and parts re easy to find for these i say go for it

I haven't seen your boat but that looks to be a very nice Blazer. I wouldn't buy it as a daily driver (there is a reason you Blazer lovers always sell 'em - don't deny it) but as a weekend warrior toy like the boat, they are pretty hard to beat. I wouldn't even change the tire size but that's just me. Owner must be a tall drink of water not to be using a running board/step.

My boat isn't the pretties thing but its solid and so far dependable. And the blazer would actually be a daily driver until I fixed my f250. My brother is getting 20mpg on the high way out of his and its the same 350/700r combo only difference is this one is on 33's and a 4in lift.

I think your brother needs to check his math again. But hey consider me very jealous if that is accurate. Still a very fun ride regardless. Clean too :thumbup:

Is your family?I thought they were loving the boat?
Are you ready to get into another boat project if you do the swap? The Kona looked like a lot of work, but turned out great.
I don't mean to point out the obvious, but with the excitement of something new, we sometimes overlook the obvious.

It looks like a clean Blazer and I don't think you would have a problem selling it if the time comes.

So I would just like to point all some additional info...
We all want something new and it different. But do we really need to go through all that again and again. Like me I currently have no truck and almost bought a second boat. With the soul reason because "it was cool and a good deal".
Well it's only a good deal if you and your family are going to use and love it. We are search CL and see those posts "i bought this ___ time ago and thought I was going to fix or use more, so now I'm selling XYZ"...
Searching CL is a good way to pass time and check stuff out, but if you look long enough another deal will pop up.

Troller and mpg you both made valid points my wife brought up last night in our conversation about it. She said i can do what ever i want with the boat she could care less but she also included "what are you gonna do with 2 trucks and no boat in the summer" and "you know every inch of that boat inside&out and down down side up why get rid of it for something your gonna work on more than use." Oh why does she know me so well. Wife 3 points me 0

But in the argument for the Blazer, do you think you would use it more than the boat? Is the F250 your daily driver or for 4 wheelin?

Well I guess you guys do sound like my wife and usually she's right so take it for what it's worth lol. But the f250 is my daily and has been down for over a year but I have a company truck i take home so I really don't need a vehicle but I'm not suppose to drive the work truck after hours and that's where I kinda need a truck. But honestly I would use he blazer more, it's a vehicle I don't need water for lol. It will hold its value year round and I do love them. And as far as the wife comment, think about this. Realistically a man needs 3 women, a cook, a cleaner, and a night time buddy. That's three women to employ, gonna get expensive. Or find one, listen to what she has to say half the time and shell do all three jobs for free ;)
But I am waiting for the funds of some stuff I have sold and once that comes in and I cash out some vacation time i will have enough to buy another motor for y truck so no need for the blazer. But I would like to have one. Maybe after I finish the boat, my chevelle and my truck.
I do really miss my truck though. 99 f250xlt extended cab short bed with the infamous 7.3 powerstroke. Big enough for 6 adults, tow anything i need and its compact enough to fit in the garage. Power everything and rides like a cadillac with the leaf spring delete and bags In the rear

Humm, screw the blazer!
Keep the boat and fix the truck! And boat you know you won't have problems with and a truck that you won't ever need to get rid of! Do it.
Blazers come up all the time... I also am in the market for a new to me DD/ tow rig/ weekend warrior. I haven't and do look at everything form a K5 to 02 Dodge 2500 and everything in between. I have always really wanted a K5, but every time I go and drive one I think of all things I'd be missing out of with a bed. And all the daily features and amenities of a newer vehicle. It's a scale, like a boat figure out what features you can't live without and what you need it to do. Then weight it out against yours wants.
Maybe I over think everything, but it hasn't let me down yet... 25 years old with a BA in Construction Management, good job, boat, great daughter, and some money in the bank.
