Title: I need a boat mechanic....
Post by: snuff630 on September 08, 2009, 05:15:26 PM
Anybody have reccomendations on a good shop thats not to expensive?  My boat broke again this weekend in Martinez???   :banghead:  I lost oil pressure from 80 psi to 40 psi and have a knocking. As soon as I heard it and saw the guage drop I went back to the launch immediately.

I live in Lake Elsinore area if that helps.

What all are you looking for, the R&R, the engine rebuild ???   For the engine rebuild I highly recommend Dave aka the engine doctor here on the boards

It's easy to r&r the engine, take it to A&D and have Dave work his magic on it. Or you can pay me and I'll take it out & re-install it for you...

My puny little chevy is getting A and D-ized by Dave as well .
Straight forward, no BS and YOU WILL get what you pay for.
Always remember that when you build a motor that takes a beating like a jet boat motor does.
Even an everyday stocker marine motor.

Chris Wheeler. He used to do alot of engine stuff for ultra custom boats and he worked at crower for about 7 years. He's also been a guest engine builder on overhaulin a couple diffrent times.

Engine Dr.... shoot me a PM with contact info.  I'm not looking to do anything wild, just go through it all and fix it.  So far this year since I bought the boat, I've put a new impeller in it and did other minor stuff.  The guy who owned it before me didn't take care of it.  So it's been a rough season....    :banghead:

Give Mark  (76 Nordic) a pm.

I've sent many customers to him over the course of 3o yrs. for R&R Work.. He is exceptional at his work , never  had
a customer complain about his work.
He is also an Engine Machinest...and so knows the ropes...
Just a thought...Maybe he can help you as well.
Best of luck,
David :)
