Title: Ignition Safety switch???

I was cleaning out my engine bay last night and noticed what i thought to be an extra bilge pump next to my jet that said "ignition safety".  Looks just like a bilge with 2 wires coming out of it but no place to put a hose to pump out the water.  Any idea what it is or am i just a dumba$$?

sounds like a remote solenoid, but a picture might help...what are the wires connected to??

pictures and or a little "circuit testing" with a test light or multi meter may be in order ? Tom

Float switch for the pump?  X3 on the pictures, we be a visual sort a crowd :thumbup:

Good call GT!! Bilge pump float switch.  Turns the pump on automatically if too much H20 gets back there...good feature, but make sure it works.  You should also have a manual switch on the dash...also make sure it works.

I figured that GT had hit the nail on the head with his comment.   It is a great feature i just figured that it was built into the pump itself.  On dash also works.

riser what are you doin for the fourth? were gonna go camping on the ohio for the weekend just wondering would love to see that boat down here.....

BAG is pretty good, I had not heard that one.  Now SWAG on the other had is a term I have heard and used (SWAG = Scientific Wild Ass Guess)  ;D
