I am going to try switching my dual webbers for a single 48 on my desert car. Im sick of the dual carbs loading up and just kind of being a pain in the ass. Im running a 2276 so i know it will run on a single 44 but i would like to put a 48 on if i can find one at a decent price.

I will look around I may have one.

i would be very greatfull. MY dual carbs work pretty good and my car hauls ass. i just want to make it a little more responsive. and dual carbs are just not good for that. they also get flooded and backed up when i bounce the rear end real good. then it takes me a few to get them cleaned out so i can get back on the gas.
So if you have one i would be very greatfull. I dont want to spend $ on a new one to find out my duals work better.

Duals are better in my opinion. The duals are more responsive since the carbs are closer to the heads. The bobble can come from a lot of things. The floats could be set to high. The csrbs could be jetted to fat. I run dual 48 dlra dellortos on my motor. My brother runs dual 40 webers. They work we just have to set them up. I can help you. Is the car at your place or the river.

no i use it up here in the desert. I have a nice set of dual 44s on there now. im just sick of messing with them and i want to run a UMP filter system. but i dont want to have to do the plumbing or run two filters for the dual carbs. as far as i know the duals only really come into effect at the top end of the RPM range. i dont spend a lot of time up there so i figured i might as well try a large single carb.
I would love some help from someone who really knows these things. all my testing is by trial and error.
I have been looking for an engine shop with a dyno that i can give my motor to so they can squeeze all the hp possible out of the motor but i just cant seem to find one.

I would stick with the duals I ran a set of 40's on a 2110 and ran great once they are set you never have to touch them again I ran that set up on my street car for a few years then put it in a 2 seat mid engine changed up the jetting and ran it for a couple seasons. have your carbs been rebuilt recently? may need new needle and seats and like my brother said a float adjustment. orrrrrr another option is stay in the throttle and you wont have to worry about it loading up ;D

that is what i have been doing for the last few years. lol ;D
