Title: I’m new here
Post by: 82’Anchovy on May 26, 2021, 04:09:14 AM
I’m looking for advice, knowledge, etc..
I got an 82’ Haskell jet boat a few months ago and it’s my first boat. I’ve had some issues with it that are minor but would like it to start to turn heads. Also plan on taking it to Havasu a lot and really just want tips and advice on that part. I hope to hear from y’all!

Welcome to the madness.
Havazoo is an ocean in a lil squirt boat, head up river to the skinny water- keeps most off shore race boats away.

Need better pics of the float. And needs open headers. And always more horsepower.

Welcome.
Agree with Dan’l,
we mostly stay in needles,
travel to pirates cove and the gorge. When traveling to the channel in havasu I tend to plan a time based on all of the surrounding weekend activities, as it can be like an ocean with swells that would rival any sailors tales.
North river is much smoother and enjoyable.
With that said, cruising through the hangouts with chrome headers singing their song is always a good time.

Thanks for the info :)
I usually go with my girl and her parents to the nautical, know any good places to do early morning speed runs before beaching at the channel?

Welcome to SCJB. Havasu can be crazy for our little boats. I haven’t been in over 15 years, but it can be really nice like during the week and when the wind isn’t blowing.
Down by the dam can be really nice, but no real beach area.
What kind of motor and pump?

I don’t have a speedo yet but I clocked myself on waze going 55 fully loaded, haven’t done it with just my self. My guess is about 65-70 on a good day. I heard every 150 lbs of cargo is about a 5 mph loss
