After rebuilding the engine last year and replacing the annotator fuel pump starter carb the steering line for the pump new msd ignition system .I still cant get this dam thing to run right .
I took the boat out to havasu this weekend and i can honestly say i had the time of my life. Ill post pictures later. The boat ran good for three days and as soon as i about to line the boat up and put it on the trailer the i hear a knock then a bam . and it cuts off and dies im pretty sure a rod broke.
The engine maybe has 20 hours on it i spent 3 grand to have them rebuild the motor and about 1500 on all the the other parts .
i usually take the boat to a place right out side of parker .They are the ones that built the motor and installed every thing but im so tired of breaking down every time i take it out. I am not taking it back to them I honestly dont think they know what there doing at this point. i have only been able to take the boat out twice with out being towed back .
im looking for a boat with an outboard on it lol
so at this point it looks like i rebuild the motor( i saw a few on craigslist allready built) or i get rid of the boat and give up
some one help me out here :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I know you are frustrated right now but, hang in there. There are two schools of thought on this deal. One (where you seem to be right now) dump it at whatever you can get for it and cut your losses. Two (where I hope you get to) keep it, keep putting it back together better than it was when it broke and you will love your boat when it is finally done and you went through everything you did to get it there. There will be some controversy with this option. One of my good friends has been where you are and he went with the second option. He could not be happier about his boat and the way it performs now. His has been sunk, two blown engines, new interior, hull repair, complete rebuild of the deck and transem, just to mention SOME of the issues he had.
Keep in mind that as far as I know, noone ever gets what they think their boat is worth when they sell it and almost everyone at some point regrets getting rid of it even if they are getting a new one.
Just my 2 cents. Hope it all works out.

Im with morbeer, Jim Guthrie is dam good at what he does. He did the pump in my Southwind last year and did a great job. He also did the race motor in my friends Cp and its flawless. I would be happy to send you his number if you need it...

I've got my parts over at Johnson Automotive Machine in Yucaipa right now. He has a clean well equipped shop and seemed to know his stuff. I was referred to him by my Matco Tool dealer (means something to me), and I prefer to use recommendations from somebody that has experience with a shop.
Good luck

Meanwhile, back at the ranch :D. I think you have a water ingestion issue, hydraulic locked either of the two rear cylinders... I would pull it apart mui pronto before the water does even more damage....
Sorry for the troubles... :-\

I use Ronnie Beck in Welton AZ because he is only 20miles away and he has two record setting motors I know of (probably more than that). His shop is a hole in the wall but his machine work is pretty dang good and his prices are pretty reasonable. I'm building my next engine myself, but will have Ron do all the machine work. I've nothing but great things about A&D!!! I'm spoiled, I have a great builder close by, but if I didn't I'd be on the phone to A&D.

Sorry about your engine failure :(
Do you know if your rods were stress relieved etc./ and new bolts installed ???
Rods don't typically just go away if proper work is performed.
