the avi trip last weekend.
« on: July 18, 2010, 10:13:14 PM »
well  missed daniel all weekend but i saw him on the way out. looks like he had one of my weekends full of boat drama. lol. i guess he had to float back to the avi for a few hours. i will let him chime in and tell ya the whole story.

as for our weekend it was great. spent the whole day on the water sat. we left avi and went do to pirates cove. spent a few hours there and ate lunch. after lunch we motored up to the gorge and floated thru the no wake zone. that place is cool. then drove by the sand bar to check out some boats. after than we hit the bridge and parked there for a while and watched the show. around 6 we went back to pirate bar for one more drink and to just hang out. then we powered all the way back to avi racing everyone that was going the same way we were. lol i did not lose.. luckfully all the big boats were going back towards the lake. lol. i only had to race like 2 wake board yatchs and a few 21 ft jet boats. lol..

we drove the boat all dam day and i still have 3/4 of one of the tanks left in fuel. i love the new boat.

we also made friends with a very freindly couple that just happend to be driving a F34 Dave custom boats. it was amazing....

well all in all a great weekend. I am pretty sure jimmy has a pretty good case of boat envy after last weekend.

Have you read your sig line?     Outdrives are a blight on a nice boat.   Sorry to hear about all the fun you had and all the gas you DIDN'T use.   :screwy:

I hate to say it, but I've been thinkin about going prop as well lately. Yes, I will still have my jet boat(s) but have been thinking about getting a bigger boat for those non-jet boat friendly days on the lakes (mead, havasu, mohave, etc)...not to mention something a little more gas friendly.

I'll keep the southwind for the river trips...and the liberty for the race days

hey Tony, how DOES tha thing handle. i have had my eye in that hull for over a year now, for when its time to upgrade. what power? 496HO? what kind of speeds? practicality of the deck, handling of the rougher, bigger lake waters? any pics on the water? give me a good review, i havent talked to anyone who actually owns one.

Funny Shit guys! Who was all the "Moo'er's"?????

Sorry I missed it, was a hell weekend to get ANYTHING done with the storms, work, etc. Hoped to make Sunday at least.  :'(

the boat is awesom. it handles chop just fine. i ran across lake havasu with out much problem. i am not going to say it does not bounce a little because you cant avoid that. but at no time were we uncomfortable and gettin slammed on the water. the choppy stuff it likes a lot. you are able to pack more air in the tunnel. my boat runs about 70 with the fuel injected 496 mag. depending what prop you are running you can get more or less. i run a 24p 4 blade stainless. the boat is very user friendly no bow paint to worry about it is all party up top and all business underneath. we are going to lake mead on the 20th of august if anyone wants to come out for a test run with me. lol...

i have absolutely no complaints about this hull. i looked at every deck boat there is and for what i wanted this one was perfect. i wanted it to be a little big for mcintyre but a little small on the big lakes. this boat can go anywhere and it turns heads everywhere we go. i looked at a lot of magic deck boats this weekend because it seems like they give them out for free in havasu everyone has one. i like the placecraft hull better. it just looks cooler.

the engine is quiet but when you punch it you know things are happening under the hatch. she sounds pretty mean. and going from like 40mph to 70mph only takes a second or two.

alamo jimmy rode along with me all weekend so he can tell ya how the boat handles from a passengers view. i loved driving it but i did scare the girls once or twice. lol.. but i was having a blast.

if you want to ride in one before dropping the coin on one i am more than willing to plan a river or lake trip that we can meet up and go try it out.

hell whens the next socal meet. you know i will be there!

Boat looks sick! I love those flames. Just curious.. The picture with the DCB.. Is that boat with the white top in the back ground the same as yours? Paint looks a little different in the back but pretty similar. Those 6x9 covers look good too!

Ya sorry about that tony. My weekend was eventful to say the least,  We got there friday night and hit the pool wich had some sort of pool party deal going on and we drank our asses off. lets just say I woke up in the boat saturday morning. Got the boat in the water with the sun on saturday and she was running tits, everyone else got there boats down to the beach and we set up camp. all 3 of us decided to head up to laughlin to see the casinos and head back to lazy harrys for lunch. We made it all the way up there without a hitch and as soon as we passed the avi bridge anthony's boat dies so I pull him into a beach and we find out he was only pulling from one tank. so I bypassed the tee and plumbed it straight to the still full tank he fired it and he took off. Well I guess he didn't make it passed the bridge and we flew straight passed him headed back down.  I made it about a half mile passed that and my boat started missing and popping real bad so I dropped her down to idle and she sounded fine, I checked my fuel level and still had 3/4 tanks. I went to take off again and she would not get on plane just popping snapping. So I limped her all the way down to the avi just to find that anthony wasn't there and someone took off with mine and jerods's anchor's. Some Son of a B*TCH stole both of our anchors and sandspikes. So I pulled out and we took off in jerods boat back up river. We get anthony and all pull out. Crazy fricken day so we proceeded to get abliterated drunk the rest of the night..

the good news is I got home and pulled a bunch of fuel and its got a shit ton of water in it. water seperator went in today and siphoning the fuel as we speak. hopefully she will run and the group wants to do palo verde this weekend so we will see..

Anyone have an anchor they wanna sell  I really dont want to pay retail for another frickin anchor this season..
