I have had 3 boats in my life ... 2 insured and one that wasn't ... my luck was not good for the one that wasn't insured ... my son sank it ........... I had hit a rock with my fish and ski and took a chunk out of the lower unit and insurance payed for the repair.. insurance will not cost as much as a repair if you need it...

Farmers Ins., ~$106 a year. They never asked about headers, but I've got logs and snails. They did ask H.P. though, 330 hp ;)

When I checked into AAA several years ago, They had a 'black-out" coverage area, from Lake Mead south to Yuma, Ya may want to look at your policy if you go to the river. (This was in '05 or '06)

Yeah your right, in the years past AAA did not cover the lower river, but they do now. AAA is what we have (ya know, float, vehicle, house, multi policy package).

yah i think i am going to get a couple of quotes today!

If you get into a traffic accident while towing, I don't think your auto policy covers the boat damage, if there is any. I need to dbl ck that though. My Progessive payment just came yesterday. I think at the time they wouldn't cover boats without engine covers. $378 a year but it is a bigger boat.

Alstate Stan... $130 a year and i was gona look 4 a better price :screwy: $10,000 in covrage.. but they do have a cut off year ....i cant remember what year it is ...and they did ask how fast it gose haha i told them 35MPH ;D

Check your policy. In general, the towing vehicle covers the towed trailer. The boat is part of a 'load', just like a Jeep or quad on a flatbed, "should be covered', I know mine is. (also had 100K of 'on hook' on the wrecker, my customers' cars were better insured than my wrecker was, wtf :screwy: )
I had progerssive for a few years, now with farmers, a local guy, rather than just a phone number.

I've got Seaworthy ins co. Aka Geico
$108.00 per year.
300 k uninsured boater
Trl. 1000 k
Minimums on liability / indemnity
100k/300k
Emergency tow 500 bucks
Hull value. 8 k
Minimums on fuel / oil
In water
They asked for HP and top speed. 290 hp 50 mph sounded good to me.

State farm bout 400yr on a agreed amount. They came out and took pics/inventory of it. I shopped around and you need to ask them questions to be understood what they are insuring. Had a hard time finding an insurance co that would except the year, HP, type of hull, trailer...ect as a complete package. Be honest with them cause if you lie now your f...ed later.

Oh i know all about NOT to lie to an insurance agency . i use to work for a tow company years ago, and one day i had to drop a car off at a paint shop. inside this shop was a really f--ked up saleen mustang . it was brand new , still had the dealer plates on it. so got to talking to one of the guys about the car. he told me the saleen was less than a week old , and the owner power slid the car up a curb and into a tree. nice huh??? >:D then he tells me the owner is in deep shit cause he lied to his insurance , he had told them it was a plain jane mustang, not a saleen. The insurance company got him back! they only paid for a plain jane mustang . so this guy had to come up with the rest. and from what i hear he was forced to take out another loan to pay for the work or his insurance company was going to sue him.

Ive got Markel for my Cheetah, $580 a year. just because its a tunnel hull :screwy:

when I was honest with my insurance broker and told her what type of boat we have and the speed and horsepower, she could not find anyone who would insure us at any price. And I have a 40 year claim free record and use the same broker for all farm, home and vehicle insurance .if you are not 100 % honest with the insurance company and you file a claim they will drop you like a stone cancel your insurance deny your claim and keep your premium.
-
After speeking with the boss lol ...she set me stright ...mine is $127 and they do know all the correct info ,engine size ,speed what kind of boat ect. and the cut off year with Allstate was 83. And she also has all are chit bundled so thats why we get a deal on the boat. guess i should of checked b4 posting .....

made me and others go diggin, it's a good thing  Wawanesa under my home insurance policy.
$108.00 annually / 1 million third party / $500.00 deductible all risk, they asked for yr., hp., inboard or out
and the serial # off the engine block :screwy:
seemed a bit steep...our lakes are frozen over 8 out a 12 months. :)

My insurance company said no way! I have been with them for 15+ years and still nothing. I even asked if I switched back to logs and still nothing. Flo said if it was 4cyl. would not matter, it's the height of the hull did not meet there minimum + multiple other things

my same problem ,flat out no one will give me insurance at any cost if I'm truthful about my boat

"full coverage" is a very loose term in socal. I'm with state farm but I am biased because my fiancee works for them. Talk to any state farm agent, they will not shit you.

Insurance companies change the rules to benefit themselves. In AZ they are not allowed to drop you( What I have been told ) but my friend has a few speeding tickets and his just liability went to 3k a year. No reason to lie about what you got, it will bite ya in the end. I'm just really careful when I'm out in mine since I am not insured, but it is when on trailer being towed by my truck according to my full coverage insurance on it. Whew, that was long winded

Full coverage on my 04 Cobra $660 a year with State Farm. Still have a loan on it.
74 Rogers Bonneville - Uninsurable, too much HP - Have considered umbrella liability.

Anymore insurance is a must. I've worked to hard for what I have to give it away over an accident. The only question on the form that I don't trully know the answer to is Hp, I've never dyno'd the motor so I guestimate low at 295 hp. more than 300 causes problems.
