I'm watching but with much less emotional investment than I do for the BPL. I don't have much hope for the US team so I default to England, mostly just because of all the Liverpool players.

I too am watching the World Cup.  It drives the wife nuts.  She comes from a football family and I a hockey and soccer family.

If I want to be left alone all I have to do is turn on a World Cup game

Hey my team is Bosnia but it's our first time ever in the wc. We are playing Argentina tomorrow. I'm thinking that's a loss but it's a 90 min game and the ball is round...my 2nd team is Germany. Just cause I played soccer there for 10 years.

Hell yes its been working for me lol. Same here, wife's family is all about football. Her whole family is those proud bronco fans lol. They don't even know what the wc is or that it even exists lol. This is my alone time. I'm getting up tomorrow at 9 am watching all 3 games.

Unfortunately they lost but in my opinion they played a strong game. Coach made a huge mistake...Should've put ibisevic in the 2nd half.

It's always disappointing to see ur team loose.     But this years Wc is already getting exciting. The goal by the Swiss at the very end .

Swiss played a great game. Congrats to them...Japan vs ivory Coast was fantastic. Japan was up by 1 IC turned it around in the second half. The ball is round and it's a 90 minute game, anything can happen...That's what my coach in Germany would always say lol.

Yeah japan sorta blew it.

Most definitely right, anything can happen in 90 mins with a round ball

Trying to record and watch every game. Germany and Ivory Coast. Wish I could go see a game. Looks like a pretty crazy time.

Life is uncertain. Don't sip.

Nnnoooo damn why did I look on here before finishing watching the game lol. But I figured though. Ghana no offense isn't much of an opponent.

They played a decent game just started dropping the ball in the 2nd half. But a win is a win. They got their 3 points.

Bosnia...it was their first world cup ever and of course they got robbed against Nigeria. Dzeko scored the first goal fair and square and they called offside. When Nigeria scored it was obviously a foul but they didn't call it. Oh well I'm not gonna bitch and complain about it I guess I'll move on to rooting for the USA because I do have an American passport and am considered an American hehe.

Yes they did get screwed.
There were several questionable goals scored (or not scored) in the last WC and FIFA flat out said they would not allow cameras or instant replay any time soon.
This isn't 1972 anymore, they can't rely on a refs watch to tick off 90 minutes let alone wait on the ref to end the game at his leisure.
My boy Carlos Bocanegra isn't captain anymore so I don't have much interest this time around but it's always nice to see the US team do good in a true "world"  championship tournament.

I do agree. Although I don't watch too much basketball football and baseball but aren't those sports using replays for the refs to make better decisions??? Many teams this wc got robbed of goals and got scored against due to bad ref decisions. On another note...Usa played a great game in my opinion. Coming back from 0:1 in the last 30 min of the game and turn it around to 2:1. Great effort. Imo the heat/humidity and comfort of thinking they had the game in their pocket played a huge role in Portugal scoring the goal in the last 50 seconds. Jurgen Klinsmann the coach which is also the only reason I started playing soccer at the age of 8 in Germany made huge mistake in my opinion. He should know his players better and should've built a "wall" in the back, guarding the one goal lead especially in the last 5 minutes of the game.

Everybody to the back and guard the lead!!! Simple yet effective. KISS!

I want to say the FIFA would only "consider" video at the goal line....
Which obviously hasn't happened.
I think they need that at the very least!
I agree,  but they looked real solid for the most part and good luck to these boys on Thursday.

Fifa needs to take notes from the NFL hehe. There's 22 players on the field chasing one ball...impossible for 3 guys to see everything at all time.

I think US will at least pull a draw in the next game. A win is possible as long as they play as good as they did today in the 2nd half.

Good luck. I'll be watching and rooting for them.
