Title: Is anyone going out to Castaic this weekend
Post by: alexNla on July 23, 2007, 01:37:04 PM
Does anyone wanna get together and do some "SoCalJetBoats" socializing over at Castaic this weekend? My buddies and I are heading out and thought it might be a good idea to get a post going and see if we can group together.

Possible. What day do you plan on going? C'mon Omar. Ball up and get your asss out there. If a tire goes flat AGAIN, you still have 5 others.  ;D

Were actually probably gonna be out there both days. We usually drop our boats at the West Ramp and go from there. Just give me a heads up as to what day works out better for you and we can take it from there.

We are there at least one day a week. We try to make it out there on either saturday or sunday. As far as it being crowded. You will find yourself in a line if you get there after 10:30 but that just takes about 5-10 minutes to get through. Once your on the water, you will find it to be smooth on certain parts of the lake and REALLY choppy on others. The more boats the more choppy. There is no wind for the most part. And if there is wind, its a really mild breaze that comes in the latter part of the afternoon. Its almost pleasent as apposed to be bothersome. All and all I cant really complain. Its a 30 minute drive from my house and its cheaper than building and maintaining a pool in your backyard. The water is clean and refreshing and so is the air. You should give it a shot.

Went to Castaic to put 'er in the water for the first time today. Boat works really well. It was just my Wife and me and our youngest daughter...... the oldest had to work. Everything was goin ok 'til I sucked a tow rope into the prop (DOH!!!!) Had to jump in and cut it loose. Oh well....... could've been worse I guess....... I'm gonna have to figure out how to take the prop off the OD so I can get what's left of the rope out of there. That would've never been an issue with a Jet.

I think it would have been worse in a jet .At least you dont have to crawl under your boat to get it out . Glad to hear everything else went OK .
